It would also piss the BBC and TaP off too if it's not her they've picked as like previously mentioned that would very likely lead to unwarranted backlash against whoever is picked.

Just want to say, because I made a point of this a few pages back but it's got lost in the shuffle - the reason I absolutely maintain it's Rina is because TaP/BBC aren't amateurs and would have picked up on the rumour getting out of control right away.

Because you're right, the real UK entry would suffer a negative backlash, mainly from a mix of UK and non-UK fans. However I think it's also worth pointing out that I could forsee Rina herself getting a negative backlash on her socials too. She knows Eurovision, she's a self-confessed ESC stan, and besides which our bubble makes up part of her fanbase and target audience. She doesn't want the negative PR either.

Which is why I think it's Rina. TaP would absolutely have shut the rumour down when it was catching fire a few weeks ago, knowing full well how she was one of most requested names last year too. TaP are a fantastic management company, not amateurs, they are masters of PR. They would know the damage the Rina rumour would cause for their pick. The only explanation: it's Rina (well, or that TaP are grossly incompetent, but the team that made Dua Lipa a star and are making Lana/Ellie hot properties again in 2023 are not that)

The only angle I can see as to why Rina would be playing up her possible involvement is because she is/was in contention to be the act. But because of NDAs and such she couldn't outright say she was. But maybe she felt she could try and force TaP/BBC's hand if she created enough of a buzz from the fans to show there is a demand for her to do it. How successful or not this has proven we'll see in the coming weeks.

Because I'll be honest, the alternative that she is just doing it to essentially troll the fans doesn't make much sense to me. It feels too self-indulgent to really achieve anything worthwhile.

Of course if she was in the running and was doing all of this to tease the fans and it isn't her, well, it'd be unfortunate to go to all that effort only for it to not amount to much. But I suppose she could use it to support her chances next year if she feels so motivated. Well and the TaP/BBC relationship continues.

Rina is playing with fire aka eurovision fandom. Get ready, babe. If it is not you, the spanish and polish fans will make you cry. 💅
Birdy will represent UK with her song "Anouk"

Source: don't trust me
Speaking of polish and spanish Fans who want Rina, „Birdy falling down the rooftops“ would be a realistic scenario if she is indeed the chosen one.

tbh I love how we are now able to discuss these artists as actual serious contenders to go to Eurovision, and it all not just be wishful thinking. It feels like we've come such a long way.

Yeah, it´s a enormously huge improvement to recent years.
No more has beens or chanceless newcomers or Steps! :D

It doesn´t matter if it´s Rina or Birdy now, I believe that :uk: could get another Top 10 results in May and that´s already freaking massive!

I wonder if we can prime her from Dubai for a few weeks in April leading into May
Just use some random woman off the street, no one will notice the difference.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the real Lisa-Scott Lee:
