Just seen this tweet so we will likely hear it this week? We just won't know which one it is

https://twitter.com/nathanmatthews/status/1630207122100060160?t=eZ5LBJjKkO1ijK-rmgNT5w&s=19

ehh it's nothing. We already know Birdy is a rumoured name, and we know her song releases at the end of this week? Anybody could put 2 + 2 together to try to come up with some sort of exclusive and hope they're right along the way.

I could tweet some barefaced allusions to Mimi or Freya making puns out of their song name and if I'm right I look like a genius.

And as it stands, I recall Eurovision Party LDN getting in trouble for suggesting (I want to say) Claudia Valentina was the entry last year, so.

It isn't beyond the realms of possibility that some of the "Leaks" are fake. And are being put out there to see which Eurovision journalists and outlets are leaking information they shouldn't be. So that way they learn not to work with them in future.

CORRECTION: it's not Wiwi. The BBC atrium picture of Rina, the constant comments on Rina's Instagram that are constantly shared - those were made by William Lee Adams.

William Lee Adams, may I remind you, also works for the BBC. I maintain the atrium picture was part of the strategy this year, drop 'evidence' slowly from figures within the fandom. And these aren't just any figures. William is a BBC employee, the Euro Trip who dropped two big hints have had the likes of Ben Mawson and Lee Smithurst and Dan Shipton on their podcast. They are an inner circle of sorts.
Where do you see that?

*ignores the wordplay and frantically listens out for Holy Til You Let Me Go on Radio 2 from Wednesday onwards*
Yeah me too lol. Not sure why everyone went down the rabbit hole of birdy. I just wondered if people could listen out to see if they play holy or something new!

She’s releasing Raincatchers on Friday so the link is there with that tweet. The speculation moves from one artist to another easily.

Birdy is on tour in March & April

These have already been rescheduled once as well
There's some neat gaps in there though that would allow her to do the Pre Parties and it finishes in plenty of time for the main event. Does look like it could be the song.

EDIT Just seen that article is from 2022, so unless TaP were planning very far ahead, this could also be a coincidence.

I wouldn't be pleased with our act having tour commitments between their announcement and Eurovision itself tbh - there's all sorts of risks ranging from illness (including COVID) and overworking theirselves. Their focus for the next 10 or so weeks should be solely on the contest imo. Pre-parties are fine and come part of the whole ESC package and I imagine would have protocols for things such as COVID.

I know it's difficult but imagine if the whole song from Birdy is like the snippet, with a Kate Bush vibe, what would be your feeling about "Raincatchers" and the potential of this song at the contest ?

"Raincatchers" sounds to me like a sequel to Kate Bush's "Cloudbusting" and I love that song so I'm interested to hear "Raincatchers" in full.
Regardless if it is the UK's entry or not, I'm probably going to be listening to the song anyway when it comes out in full on Friday. I actually think it sounds like a potential Eurovision winner just from the snippets I've heard but lets see.

Obviously Birdy would be better than 90% of anything we've sent since the turn of the millennium, however I just have a feeling it'll fall flat and won't translate into votes - this genre never typically does well

Yep. Mahmood and Blanco toured during April and into May and look what happened. They were both exhausted and it took a toll on their vocals. Sam was completely committed to Eurovision connecting with the public, press and vocal training. He nearly broke his knee in Madrid but he went to the hospital and still performed at the pre-party on the same day.

The Eurovision build up will be huge after the artist is announced the BBC will want them available all the time.

Nathan Matthews on Twitter "A little birdy tells me we’ll start to hear serious radio airplay of the UK Eurovision entry later this week. But in an attempt to keep it under wraps until the announcement date, we’ll also hear more of the other rumoured artists too…"

Rina with a song like Lucid. That’s how the UK would win Eurovision
