I need to abandon this topic until the official announcement as it's starting to frustrate me that this is becoming a stronger rumour by the second that seems likely. The eurofans hyping this need their membership revoked x
The only thing carrying my hope right now is the fact our HoD had stated before that their intention from last year onwards was to rebuild the ESC brand and have serious competitive entries - and this choice would go against all of that.

One thing that specifically concerns me is the Wiwibloggs articles supporting The Frock Destroyers. Often we get from this website totally random "hey wouldn't this artist just be great for Eurovision?" posts, followed a little while later by announcements for who they were cheering for. Take the Senhit and Vasil hype posts from last year for instance, and I'm certain there's been many more. They just don't spring to mind right now.

There is still something about this that strikes me as a little odd which is making me think that this is going to be "announcement of announcement" level stuff. As we've already established they record this show months in advance, and the truth is that if they had the act on performing that night with their song then it would have leaked by now, if not the song and act itself then the news that that is the episode it is going to happen.
Unless of course the act and song aren't performing 'live' on the show and its just a case of Norton or whoever saying via ADR dubbing "Alright everyone, here is a special treat for you all, here is a look at who is representing the UK this year" And then its just played as a video with a few generic responses from the people there talking about how great they are. Or it could be just them saying that they will announce the act tomorrow or next week given they say "Artist and song news soon".
OOoooooor, maybe the announcement is that Drag Race will be doing the staging this year and that is the big reveal? Or someone like that MNEK is involved somehow and they just blow smoke about how great whoever it is that is going to do it is going to be.
I dunno, the timeframe of this feels a little weird as this is the kind of announcement that you typically have built up by a few days as was the case last year, even if the reveal last year was half hearted. For them to just turn around announce the announcement and reveal it the same day feels a little too off to me.
I know the BBC and Eurovision feels half hearted at the best of times, but even they like the smell of their own BS enough to want to push the boat out even just a little more than this.

Oh no, unless I am missing something here I think we have been bamboozled.
The episode went up like half an hour ago and there is nothing about an act or an announcement online, and from the scanning I have done I saw no hits of it. So... erm... I think the tweet was just them saying "Oh hey here is a Eurovision themed Drag Race and we'll give you news on the act soon". And "Soon" meaning some time over the next few days, not the same day.

Yeah I think it's just conveniently timed to add to the hype around the eventual reveal
Like "oooh look! Eurovision Drag Race episode! You all ready for more Eurovision in the coming days?!?"
Unless there's a sneaky release right at the end of the episode, which I think would be a pretty great way to reveal but hey ho!

Pay no attention to it. Its the page I was ranting about a few posts back and their claims have nothing to back them up.
Its a page that only came into existence a few days ago. And I think its run by the same person to claimed that last year the UK would be represented by a female soloist with a dance track and that Scotland would debut at Junior Eurovision amongst other rumours that they pulled out their backside.
