I agree that ageism must stop. Most singers and musicians for me get better even with time. My dream (incredibly unrealistic as it may be) would be to have living legend Marianne Faithfull represent UK at the contest. It would make my life complete I think. There's no other artist from my own country that means as much to me.

Pleaseeeeeee can we just send a good song. John Newman (if the rumours are true) could definitely provide that given his track record.
I've said it year after year, there is nothing wrong with ballads or slow songs in general. Some of my personal favourite songs from Eurovision have been just that.
HOWEVER, it is clear that the UK does not do them so well at Eurovision with them and it would be an absolute breathe of fresh air if we went in with a full on BOP. We could get that with Newman, but I feel we could also end up with a lovey dovy, slushy mushy song with no real power.
I'm hopeful for tomorrow and I'll look forward to the announcement, but it's very hard to have faith in the BBC's Eurovision antics at the moment - Give the people what they want!
