I personally am more interested to see if my theory about it being announced on Friday is true or not. I mean, sure, someone the fans have wanted for ages, rising young talent, sure, sure, great and all, but I want to be proved right gosh dern it!

If they do send Foxes that would be a fine choice, but there's a risk here which is that the song has to be good and the staging has to be done properly. The UK is always very much at risk of underestimating what Eurovision actually is. Winning this involves bringing your A-game on all fronts. Second risk is that Foxes is not nearly as famous as they might think. I for one only know a single song by her and I have never heard it being played on the radio over here. So if the angle is going to be that they're sending a 'big act' they're very much mistaken.

Btw, the problem with UK is not staging or even the artists, they are always decent at least, but the song and the concept itself. The idea it has to suit the Eurovision and be eurovisiony and campy is the core of the problem for a few countries as well, but especially the UK.

Slightly off-kilter pop artist. Closest comparison from top of my head would be Florence & The Machine, but that's based on a single song so I might be way off.

Ngl they did have some hits and were popular in their day, but JLS would just feel so... late 00s early 10s boyband. Which will likely only please British women around my age. Foxes is by far the better choice.
