You see, I can't stand X-Factor for the terrible singers and camp/ comedy stuff. That's why, for me, the auditions are the worst part.
I have respect for The Voice attempting to actually focussing on the talent and not exploiting people for a cheap life or bit of tacky entertainment. But the format is too extended and dull. Typical broadcasting of the BBC to be fair, they don't listen to people's complaints until they've literally lost all their viewers, and then they wonder why the fixes they make don't work.
Basically the same as what they're doing with Eurovision, unfortunately other broadcasters send good stuff (increasingly) meaning the viewers won't drop for the contest, also making me fear that the BBC will never wake up and smell the coffee.

To be fair it's more of the problem with The Voice in general than the BBC. Around the world as soon as the blind auditions finish the ratings normally take a huge tumble. The auditions are watchable and have a will they won't they element. Ratings pick up across the auditions, but then the battles happen. The ratings fall again as they do everywhere as the later rounds are contrived and pointless. The annoying thing is the amount they spent on it as everyone can see it's a broken product. However light entertainment in general across the globe is a total mess, something that is vaguely succesful demands a load of cash e.g. Splash! for ITV. They do well because there is nothing else better to watch on a dark night. Good weather shows people don't care or stronger opposition destroy them in ratings such as the soaps or BGT.

The Voice would do better Jan-March as I said before as it wouldn't have competition from weather or BGT. Sending the winner to ESC would help them get around not being able to promote the winner on the BBC as they could support the winner in the European market not the domestic one. The record company would get some money out of the act even if they flopped quickly like our winner selling less than Dina (Voice of Russia). It would also give more purpose in the later rounds. Perhaps have the public write songs and send them in to get people engaged with both.

Problem with that option is you aren't going to have acts like these wanting to take part anymore

And you will end up with loads of this

Having said what I did I'm not sure we should be interested in a show (Voice) that can't even get 5 million viewers :D

Its ratings bombed in the first series. I was surprised they even did a second series.

The Voice UK has a great bunch of singers, many of them would be an excellent choice! :D

Pairing a flop singing contest with a joke song competition won't do any good for the profile of either. That said, I imagine (or rather, hope) that next year will be the last edition of The Voice. They'll have no show to protect. It's not as if they'll be worried about making ESC look good.

Doubt there'll be any link anyway.

How about Wet Wet Wet instead?

It's widely considered to be a flop in the UK.

Really? :( too bad, I watch a few editions from all over the world and the British one is the best IMO. My dad and I love watching it every week.

If the UK was the best then i don't want to see what they had to offer in other european countries. i watched the first three episodes of series 1 and thought what a load of s**t. Never watched it since and never intend to. I hope it is cancelled. The only reason i will watch it again is if the winner will represent us at the eurovision.

The talent in the Voice really isn't the problem (unless the public vote for another lame winner). Though it does promote a very outdated style of singing. Just because you can hit those notes they don't need to be in every single song you sing. The judges don't really work when you compare it to other shows and they refuse to be negative when the performances are beyond dire. You don't get to bond with the contestants llike you do on other shows. The live shows are poorly paced and strung out. The format can work but the ratings don't like the scheduling has not helped but the collapse is more due to the fact BBC struggle with light entertainment.

Yet it will be back for sometime if you compare it to overnight averages for Saturday Nights

Eurovision Song Contest – 7.70 (1/1)
The Voice 6.91 mil
Doctor Who 6.01mil
In it to win it – 5.616 mil
Let’s Dance 5.24 mil
Casualty – 5.24 mil
Britain’s Brightest 4.39 mil

They build Saturday nights around the lotto and Casualty hence the failures.

You have left
English 4
N.Irish 2
Welsh 1
Philippines 1

Sorry for going off topic with it all

British Filipino contestants in singing competitions are over hyped by Filipino diaspora? Filipino diaspora is one of the most obsessive voters.
