Well I've decided to try and pick the positives out of the UK's rehearsal.
Let's get the negatives out of the way first - overall it still looks a tad busy to me - busy without achieving the dramatic impact I'd been hoping for. Also I think the screens of the guys could be a mistake. Whilst they would be spot on for a Blue concert this isn't all about them and the screens could be seen as a bit egotistical - "Look at us - we're the most famous people here!" - indeed I've already seen comments to that effect. However, I think most people who will take that view would not have been voting for them anyway.
Finally - Green! Urrgh! The LED show looks like something knocked up on an early home computer in the 1980s.
But I did say I was going to be positive so to paraphrase Israeliboy I'd say I believe 'Blue know what they are doing'.
The vocals are not far off the mark - and I find it ironic that Jedward are suddenly being touted as serious contenders for the win on the basis of having managed to hit over 50% of their notes but Blue are dismissed for missing a couple of theirs (you know who you are AKOE
)
But they have avoided the Blue Union Jack trap and that's a big plus.
And finally, I'm thinking - or perhaps more hoping - that the performance is more geared to the camerawork and how it will look at home - which at the end of the day is where the votes will be decided. That is my big positive.
