Also with the new outfits the rap parts merges better into the whole package. Still not a fan of it from a musical perspective, but with this staging it feels much more genuine.

Tumblr, mostly.
Solidly good. Jerry was fantastic after her vocals were consistently the weak point of the song in my eyes.

My only grievance is Alyona's rap break. It was well executed by her, but it lasts for a minute (so long that the composition has to add in a KEY CHANGE partway through) and it would be good if the staging also broke it up in a few more bits. Now it feels like a long, stationary segment with little variation.

But yeah, overall - one of tonight's stand outs, clearly cruising towards a top five. Not sure if they're winning it. That will become clear on Thursday.

I miss the interplay between Jerry and Alyona, they barely are on screen together. Especially miss the part where Alyona would let Jerry rap one of her lines, now she just let's the background singers/Jerry do it from off-screen. Nitpicky maybe, but not the same connection.

When last year they could get top 6 with such a bland entrance, I fail to see how Ukraine is not the one to beat with this. Absolutely powerful anthem with an impactful staging that goes right into the heart of people. Should be the clear favorite to win. Maybe I am going to place a bet on them.

The metal shoulder pad for Ukrainian singer Jerry Heil, who together with her colleague alyona alyona reached the final of Eurovision 2024 with the song Teresa & Maria, was made by a blacksmith from Odessa, Andriy Chernogor.

According to the blacksmith, he had to work in extremely difficult conditions during the shelling of the city, sometimes without light. Chernogor added that there were very short deadlines, and fitting had to be done remotely...

Stylist Margarita Shekel said that the costumes for the duo were made for two months, starting with sketches and ending with tests on stage.

For Jerry Heil, a dress was made of lightweight muslin so that it would work well with windbreakers. It is almost transparent to emphasize Jerry's porcelain skin. The metal shoulder is an image of the words “no matter what, the world is on her shoulders”. The reference was the armor on the shoulder of the archangel Michael, the protector of Kyiv. It was made by Andriy Chornogor, a blacksmith from Odesa.

For alyona alyona, we decided to make a kimono with a reinforced shoulder in the shape of armor. The chainmail dress - a metaphorical statement about protection and confrontation in the fight for oneself - weighs 3 kg and was made of 10 thousand rings by Kyiv-based craftswoman Helen Romanova.

I don't know if it's possible but I'd get rid of the big Jerry LED for the final. That transition between the LED and then her real self back on stage looks silly. Everything else is amazing and it was definitely the best last night for me. They finally got the placements in the ending shoot on the floor correct too. Jerry sounded very strong despite what some people say. (y)

This was really mindblowing. It turned out even better than I imagined. One of the highlights of the evening for me.

It got my vote as well and I am planning to vote for :ua: in the final as well.

Hypothetically, if it would end up winning, it would be very deserved.

It's very cool composed, uses everything in the stage, but not too dramatic or too much (and the rapper provides backing which is much better than just standing there as sober hypeman). Funny how Ukraine always produces operatic songs styled similar to Russia. I think with the pivot this year to the "extra songs", with a good place in the final, it will probably lead the standings or be very close to that in the final purely on a very high televoting until very late in the evening.

Jerry Heil said if she has a great song that promotes our country she will take part one more time. I mean, Ani Lorak and Zlata all won from their 3rd attempt. She can try.

alyona alyona said if she decides to take part it will be a feat. with someone.

And it happened

Seeing the performance really made the song go from a top 10 to a top 3 in my book

Holy crap. Did EBU do a hate crime with that running order?!?!
Stop, wait a minute this year the televoting begins at the start of the show and we will be collecting votes from the general audience for almost entire length of the final while Switzerland/Croatia will get out of esc bubble only at the end, with their late running orders YAY!!!
