The metal shoulder pad for Ukrainian singer Jerry Heil, who together with her colleague alyona alyona reached the final of Eurovision 2024 with the song Teresa & Maria, was made by a blacksmith from Odessa, Andriy Chernogor.
According to the blacksmith, he had to work in extremely difficult conditions during the shelling of the city, sometimes without light. Chernogor added that there were very short deadlines, and fitting had to be done remotely...
Stylist Margarita Shekel said that the costumes for the duo were made for two months, starting with sketches and ending with tests on stage.
For Jerry Heil, a dress was made of lightweight muslin so that it would work well with windbreakers. It is almost transparent to emphasize Jerry's porcelain skin. The metal shoulder is an image of the words “no matter what, the world is on her shoulders”. The reference was the armor on the shoulder of the archangel Michael, the protector of Kyiv. It was made by Andriy Chornogor, a blacksmith from Odesa.
For alyona alyona, we decided to make a kimono with a reinforced shoulder in the shape of armor. The chainmail dress - a metaphorical statement about protection and confrontation in the fight for oneself - weighs 3 kg and was made of 10 thousand rings by Kyiv-based craftswoman Helen Romanova.
Jerry Heil said if she has a great song that promotes our country she will take part one more time. I mean, Ani Lorak and Zlata all won from their 3rd attempt. She can try.
alyona alyona said if she decides to take part it will be a feat. with someone.
Stop, wait a minute this year the televoting begins at the start of the show and we will be collecting votes from the general audience for almost entire length of the final while Switzerland/Croatia will get out of esc bubble only at the end, with their late running orders YAY!!!Holy crap. Did EBU do a hate crime with that running order?!?!
