That's not even true, firstly the very few ethnic inspired songs Ukraine sent, are all very different from each other. Also, what do you want, for them to invent ethnic sounds that isn't even Ukrainian? I think they have been proving to incorporate local sounds with other styles in very innovative ways, and again it's not that it happened alot (people's memory span seem to be only stretchning for a couple of years it seems) so let's not exaggerate. Also, what Ukraine sent lately is a much better representation of their music, same cannot be said about most other countries so I guess it all comes down to what we want from Eurovision, seems some want Swedish radio pop in English which is kinda sad tbh. It's just that kind of thinking that is ruining the contest since entries start to sound the same and have no character, and we also saw how desperately sounding like "western Pop in English" but failing at executing it well has even ruined it for some countries (Montenegro and Macedonia say hello!).Yeah but when the ethnic is always the same kind of ethnic, it gets boring. But again it's only us ESC fans who follow national finals and are familiarized with it, most casual viewers won't even notice and still find it exotic.
I think he was talking about ethnic inspired songs from different regions of Ukraine, as I'm sure they have regional variation on folk like most countries. But yeah, their folk entries weren't that similar. That's not even true, firstly the very few ethnic inspired songs Ukraine sent, are all very different from each other. Can we have at least 2 of these icons in Liverpool as well please?!
Kateryna Pavlenko (Go_A), Zlata Ognevich and Timur Miroshnychenko will host Vidbir
I would love Zlata to participate again

why is vidbir going to be four hours long? how does that make any sense? thats longer than most eurovisions

Vidbir always needs several hours to discuss each song. The concept of a timely paced show doesn't exist when it comes to a Ukrainian NF.why is vidbir going to be four hours long? how does that make any sense? thats longer than most eurovisions
You are forgetting the 7-10 minute commercial breaks after every two/three songsI get the in depth discussion post song but theres only 10 songs I really cant work out how the runtime makes any sense
