Who did the background with all the shiny running people? Didn't notice that in the rehearsal clips. Thought it looked excellent.

I like Ukraine much better than France and Italy. But then, I didn't like Ukraine before neither, because it came across as a wall of shrieking noises. So let's see if someone else can captivate me like UA did yesternight. Right now, I have Ukraine number 1, Norway number 2 (obviously personal fanwank, but whatever).

Malta let me down a bit, because it is feels like Netta and Fuego reloaded (Body positivity, Self-empowerment, Owning your fierceness), but at the same time she sings much better than Netta. A pity she came late to the party.

In terms of quality, originality, momentum, Ukraine is the benchmark right now for everyone else. If I'd listen to Poland or UK now, I'd think, OK pack up and go home. The contrast is so stark, and it's not about the genre.

Not to get ahead if ourselves, but a win is not completely out of the question at this point (and it's fun to speculate), so where would Ukraine host next year? Kyiv again or do they the appropriate facilities elsewhere now too?

I was rooting for Odessa in 2017 and I think it's a legit option. We got two editions in Kyiv already, as much as I think both were spectecular, I wouldn't mind a different host city, Ukraine has a lot to offer!

I too would like a different city but I think in 2017 there were some concerns about infrastructure elsewhere, airport, public transport, suitable venue, etc. I hope some of these have been resolved in the last few years.
