To all the Jamala fans: vote for 1944.I am so ready to give her my 12 points.

This. I wish I could vote.

Even if it's not your favorite in the final, it's the most interesting song with a chance to win. It could be one of the most unique winners ever. And who knows if or when we'll have another song like this with a chance to win. VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!

If juries don't have 1944 in their overall top 3... I don't see the point of inviting those people next year! As I'm pretty sure Australia is their first choice, I hope Jamala has been ranked 2nd or 3rd at least.

Regarding televoting, I guess Russia will top it, but I hope Ukraine will be top 3. With the disagreements between both parties, Jamala can win as I don't imagine juries voting too much for Russia, and Australia may not do that well with viewers (5th of 6th place for instance).

Or maybe people will totally root for 1944, which would become the best winner of the 21st century imo xlove

Please let me dream until midnight xpray I soo want to believe it could happen.

I'm not so sure she will do so well in the televote. I honestly question how much Western Europe will get behind this, in the UK almost everyone who has commented on the song dislike it and find it super dull. But that's without the message of the song being told to everyone. That also doesn't mean to say that people in France or Spain will react the same, and not to 'belittle' the subject in anyway I question how much a story on the deportation of Crimean Tatars will affect people, particularly in Western Europe. I Feel like this is a song Eastern Europeans will relate to more and therefore vote for a lot more than Western Europe, but ofc it would be great if I'm completely wrong on this.

No no, you're right. It's more likely that she won't be that high with televoters, but I didn't want to jinx her in my post. :p
I know the comparison is irrelevant, but I want to believe it could follow Molitva's fate (song with a message and that doesn't sound "mainstream"). The meaning of the song may either move or put people off, I have no clue about how it will be perceived in Western Europe xthink

I know you're generalising here, and it's probably quite right, but I've been pleasantly surprised in my own experiences presenting this song to people in the UK. I work around 'music snobs' who like to spurn the contest, but a lot of them liked it because it felt authentic, they could feel her pain, and they could pick up on Jamala's influences of UK experimental post-dance music.

I have no idea what will come for Jamala, I can't call it, but I sincerely hope she does well and people do connect with her performance they way I have. I've never been emotionally moved by a Eurovision entry like this before and not only that, I think it's a fantastic composition in both lyrics and using modern experimental music with traditional cultural style. It's not a song with mass appeal I know, but no matter what she's my winner this year and hope it reflects in a top five finish, but if not, she's been a truly great ambassador for Ukraine and their music scene. :)
