Wow this in my top 10 now! And ONLY because of the excellent staging, I still don't like the song...

This is so beautiful ...
I hope she chooses the black dress tough :geek:

Edit: Don't be too optimistic though - Almost everyone thought that Italy would win with the juries last year. I think Jamala might win the televoting and Lazarev the jury voting.

Jamala is going to make Europe cry with this performance (in a good way :p), this is so intense but just absolutely brilliant.

I'm not that sure but at least now i don't worry about qualifying and doing well on scoreboard. That helps me to enjoy contest more.

This is the only act that is worthy of the title WINNER imo. Nothing else makes an impression quite like this. It will win. I can't imagine or believe anything else..

Everybody watches Eurovision with a little bit of politics in the back of their mind, and when Ukraine comes on, the whole world will expect something out of the ordinary considering the country's situation, and the way it has been portrayed in the media in the past few years + knowing that they didn't participate last year. Jamala's delivery comes across as very heartfelt, and you can feel the despair in her and the song, which will tick all the right boxes. Everything else will seem banal and trivial in comparison to it.

In the end you can take what you want from the song. I don't think it's about the specific problem or the specific enemy, it's about conveying the unhappiness of it all. I also think it would have been even more out of place had they sent a typical euro-schlager, when we all know the state of the country.

Gasparyan, the main Russian ESC/showbiz journalist (imo Andy is rather Kazakh) who's close to Kirkorov, Bilan and all biggest stars said: "The best song, the best vocals and everything best belongs to Jamala... I haven't had so many shivers down my spine on ESC... and even in general. Absolutely fantastic & crazy energy. The most professional quality is when you stand still but you trigger so many emotions. There was no staging." blah blah about professional lighting and vocals "I take back my words that her song is not for Eurovision. That she could be Amy Winehouse if she chose more uptempo entry. She was Amy Winehouse tonight, Whitney Houston and more important she was Jamala.
She's the winner".

Do they all sniff something there? :?
It's 2008 all over again except they switched the roles completely. Gasparyan vs. Kirkorov again but both are on different sides now

Amazing staging but still not my cup of tea song-wise. :? I can't say I'd be thrilled to see it win, even though I don't begrudge them the victory.

Sorry but did you actually had any doubts that Ukraine will fail to qualify?

I always have doubts. I only felt sure with Zlata Ognevich. This year Jamala sends very stand-out song, half people like it, half dislike. Everything could happen.

I still think she won't do well in the televote and that's why place top-3 or top-5.

When I first heard it I was shocked. Gasparyan said this about Ukraine? Wooow, well, thanks for being frank, I like how he hinted on you-know-who
