If people like this song musically then I'm cool with that, to me it has some very good qualities and some bad ones, hence why I rank it about middle-of-the-road. My problem is that it is part of the anti-Russia bandwagon and suits the Eurogays to have an entry like this, you know, people that that cheered on Russia 10 years ago but now boo them every year because it's the popular thing to do/media told them to do so... Do you think they even care about the events 1944? No, shamefully, they don't give a damn. In fact I'll say now that most of them probably never heard of it till now.

I don't think that 'Eurogays' will even realise that the song is about historical even that involved Russia. There is no reference to Russia in the lyrics. I agree with you that there should be no booing, but I don't think 1944 is meant to stir up hatred towards Russia.

It doesn't have to be sun and dance, it can be misery but non-political misery.

It's understandable for Russia/Ukraine to have strong feelings against each other at the moment, but like I said it should be kept out of Eurovision.

As for the rest of Europe, well the attitude towards Russia is a load of bull stirred up by people wanting to distract us from the true evil and the mess they've left us in. It's a well known tactic of failed persons to use an easy foreign target to distract the people from the true happenings. It doesn't in the least bit surprise me when I see certain people here lapping up it up, but when I see the likes of A-lister following it too I get worried ;)

Look, I see your "point" in this but I don't agree, we tend to agree on many things though but it's human not to agree on everything ;)

I don't want to go further into politics, but don't for a second think that Russia is some sort of ally because we share common enemmies... because they're not.

I'm happy atleast you could separate me from all those who jump on some "anti-Russian"-bandwagon because it's "the thing" to do, I'm not one of those. In fact I'm not even anti-Russia (sure some might think so, but that's not really the case).

It's curious that you say that Eurovision should be apolitical while at the same time defending Russia's political entries even when Russia brings a phony peace song to the contest that's part of Putin's propaganda campaign.

If you don't mind a hypocritical and insincere peace song and even go so far calling this blatant piece of propaganda one of the best Eurovision songs, you better not attack a song that tells the true story of a singer's family. You make it sound as if you only appreciated Putin's propaganda while rejecting honest emotions.

Do you think Jamala doesn't care about her family's suffering but only pretends because it's Eurovision?
Are political songs only okay if they are hypocritical peace songs from Russia?
Are songs bad if they have an honest message instead of being phony peace songs or meaningless bubblegum pop?

I support both Russia and Ukraine, they're two of my favourite countries at Eurovision, so I wish for them both to partake in Eurovision with the same commitment they did in the past. I don't want them to lower themselves to sending entries trying to score cheap shots against each other.

I accept the EBU's decision so I listen to 1944 with no bias against it, but it's still not what I want from a great country like Ukraine :)

Nice to see MHIY reverting back to his known ways with these last couple of posts.

Anyways, I always thought this song was clearly political and shouldn't be allowed in it's current format, but I also thought that Russia 2013 and 2015 were political too, so the EBU has decided none of them are, so at least they are consistent. But Russia's phony message of peace they seem to enjoy sending every couple of years makes me sick. At least Ukraine's motivations come from a place of honesty rather than propaganda.

I think politics and Eurovision are intrinsically linked, and denying that is just burying your head in the sand, but the politics should not be a part of a song.

As for cheering on Russia 10 years ago, well things have changed a lot in that country since then, so It's understandable that people's attitudes to the country and thus, them winning Eurovision have also changed.

But anyway, as I said I thought that Ukraine should have changed a few parts of the lyrics, but the EBU made their decision and this is the song we have.

Imo Senchina will win that competition and this will be the dress (just a sketch  ):

with a possible Jamala's addition: short hemline & white pants.
They can rework the upper part too, depends of the stage/video setup in Stockholm.

Oh yes I've seen that one - the best one there xheart I mean they're all beautiful, but that one's my favorite.

White pants are a cool pairing but what's the point if they're under a gown? :?

She wants to create a combo so I bet there will be no gown))
+ she said that she wants to move on stage so obviously the dress won't be too long.
Shiny items can be removed because of crappy interaction with the cameras, colors can be changed in accordance with the entry's gamma.

Once they choose the winner they will start working on the final variant. As always in our case the outcome can totally differ so my eyes don't believe anything until the rehearsals

ps. She went Zlata's road and asked people to choose her dress. Maybe she will take 2-3 dresses with her too and present each one at the rehearsals.

She also said that she will "test" 4 dresses at the rehearsals.
+ she confirmed 3D mapping. It will be developed by the same company that collaborates with STB :D

The same Ukrainian company that created this for America's Got Talent last year:
