So it lasts until 14:30 CET? I work until 13:00 CET so it means I can watch about 30 minutes of show. Oh yay . I need to run home and prepare link

Yep, until 15:30, local time. I'll try to find a stream that works outside of UA.

Re: UKRAINE 2012

I support this woman for the win: http://1tv.com.ua/uk/eurovision/2012/song/national_candidate/11

But everything has to stay the same for ESC, especially the dance in which she channels Betty Boop! :D

Also, if this is any indication of what Gaitana is gonna sound like live, then her performance might potentially be a huge mess (she needs good backings to do most of the heavy lifting in this chant):

And hopefully she's tucked into whatever outfit she wears on Saturday, the one she's wearing above looks like a nip slip waiting to happen.

^ totally agree
It looks like explosion in colorful hell.
There will be no backings in the new version most def.

Polyakova is my guilty pleasure, I'd voted for her just for the lulz.

Re: UKRAINE 2012

And why should ESC be the center of the Universe and be a higher priority than other shows?
Odd time for ESC fan but not for an ordinary viewer.

So what's the other priorities then not to change the date, I just wonder? Ok there's the boxing on this date, but what about other dates?

You talk about ESC like this little cultural program which only a few people actually watches. Is it really that unpopular in Ukraine?

If someone here would suggest to move one of the most watched shows to some obscure time when almost no one watch TV, he/she would get fired from SVT for sure

1/3rd of Swedish population watches MF so this comparison is useless xshrug

Yep, only 2 person watch ESC here. Me and Yulichka. And yes, it's "very" obscure time - not a single Ukrainian watches TV at all on Saturday, probably we are that stupid according to Swedes [/sarcasm]

Who's doing the interval acts?
I have no idea. So far I know about Zlata and Sinplus.

Wow it's amazing they even show something just for two people then and that names like Gaitana are willing to enter

I didn't say anything about stupid? But I still think it's an odd time and I'm sure that even if it's not as big as in Sweden, I doubt it's just "nothing"... but yeah I might be wrong. So what's on Saturday eve then on TV?

Did someone say that you said?

I'm not gonna start a discussion about our Saturday's Eve... we haven't been ordered what to watch here yet lol. If you think that it's odd time - gr8, if you have questions ask NTU's programme director. He knows better than everyone else.

It starts right after the morning re-run of the most popular political talk show here (which ends at 1AM on Saturday)The re-run has a similar rating to the NF 2011. Saying that nobody watches TV at this time is a lil' bit unfair. If people don't want to watch ESC - that's another question.
Last year I've been switching between ESC and live Rihanna's concert in Donets'k myself xshrug

You kinda insinuated that yes...

Oh well, it's NTU's choice obviously, I just found it odd that's all, nothing to get all upset about

Re: UKRAINE 2012

My family knows about Saturday's box for a long time already, nothing about Eurovision. They simply are not interested and tbh I would also not be interested to watch all 22 participants, 10-15 of which are simply terrible.

Oh, and I liked Renata's song very much :) But I'm for Max anyway, it's high time for a guy to represent our country.

Same for my family. They just ask "did (...) win?" and this is it.
Exactly my thought about 10-15 crappy performers.

I don't mind 4 entries to win - Max, Gaitana, Polyakova and Renata. But I'm rooting for Max. I want a guy as well.
Also I want to see Zlata on Saturday.

Pity Zlata is just an interval act though :( Would love to see her for Ukraine one day.

Re: UKRAINE 2012

Decided to listen to the songs that appear to crop up the most in discussion:

Max Barskih - Loving this, surprised that the jury didn't include him originally as he's a big name afaik (I'd heard of him before this anyway) and this song is really cool. Would be something different for Ukraine definitely  And I'm not gay but he's hot so there's some votes from the girls
Gaitana - LOL what is it with all of the songs this year with the Salad Break dubstep bit? It's not bad but it borders on being quite bland, the backing beat is only just interesting enough for me really :p Her voice reminds me on Anastacia
Renata - Boring boring boring. Did I mention this is boring? Eurgh  Ukraine's like a country of two halves in Eurovision - their uptempo entries have been brilliant but the ballads were just eurgh

I tried searching for Matias too but I can't find it :p

Hope Ukraine chooses wisely :)
