The Nation Song Contest has had a lot of shifting participants over the years, far more than the 61 currently active nations. One nation no longer with us was the massive nation of Spila, who made an early debut in the second edition and kept going until NSC 49. Among the artists Spila introduced to the NSC stage, the nation also had a bunch of artists in their stall that never made it the whole way while Spila was still going. One of them is Australian teenagersintokyo, who despite never appearing in NSC for Spila, left a lasting impact on the Ugly audience during their rare moments of international exposure. Ugaly never takes artists from different nations when deciding their entries, but circumstances call for one exception! This is a group who deserves better than to never get their moment of glory, and if it has to be our job to give them that moment, so be it! With the song Peter Pan, teenagersintokyo's time has finally come! Just not under the flag they were first expecting.
