Dima is way before Europe got divided the way it is now... we'll see but all I'm saying is I wouldn't underestimate it.

I still didnt understand it. Can you name an example for a political Vote from Montenegro or Hungary to Russia?

Well ok. xthink So the :uk: televote 12 will go to :lt: lithuania almost certainly, if not then 10. I imagine :ie: Ireland will come top 3 in our televote also, unless the song is terrible - that's a thing with Irish/British diasporas, they're not always so reliable as others. :bg: will be the 3rd one in the top 3. :cy: should do well also from us, and :gr: (although I think our days of spamming points to Greece is over, Cyprus has historic ties to us). :fi: could do well with us also, but not out of some diaspora, it is Saara Aalto. I expected Ruth Lorenzo to do better in our vote than she did so we shall see. Other than that, the ones most likely to fill the rest are :is: :at: :be: & :il:. Our jury usually are more friendly to countries like :at: though.

For the first time ever, Russia is not in semi-final 1. Also semi-final 2 is going to be a blood bath like 2010

Semi 2 is definitely the one to look out for in terms of competition, :se: is lucky to have  and :dk: there aswell as :au:, :nl:, :mt:, :pl: and :sl: that tend to be quite "generous" towards us.
:ru: has :md: (diaspora), :rs: (political), :ge: (diaspora), :hu: (political), :lv: (diaspora), :me: (political), :ua: (diaspora)
Sorry, but it's simply not true that Hungary would vote for Russia for political reason. We vote for them if we like their song, and don't vote for them if we don't.
On the other hand you could have listed us among the countries generous to Sweden. ;)

I don't mean the public vote though, but we'll see...

I don't recall Hungary's vote for Sweden tbh, maybe that's true? I need to look back at history :)

I might be wrong, we'll see what will happen this year... maybe those countries moving closer and closer towards Russia mean nothing in ESC... it's something that is still quite fresh though so it's just hypothetical...

Haha well, then you really shoud take a look :D According to the stats on Wikipedia, Sweden is Hungary's most voted country. We are very rarely in the same semi though! This year will be only the third time after 2008 and 2014.

In last few years...
Hungary gave 10 points to Eric Saade, 12 to Loreen, 0 to Robin Stjernberg, 8 to Sanna (10 in the semi), 10 to Mans, 4 jury points and 7 televoting points to Frans, 1 jury point and 3 televoting points to Robin Bengtsson. :D

Oh! I didn't know :oops::eek::mrgreen:

For some reason I didn't think of Hungary as a big supporter of Sweden... cool though

So comfortable, living in an Anti-Russia-bubble, bubble, so comfortable, cannot see the real points in the Eurovision bubble, bubble.

We are chained to our preconceptions, cannot let go and falling for our own deceptions

Don't allocaaaaate meee,
just cos my name is Hungaaaary,
to the evil Russia pot,
because I am not,
such a big Motherlover, lover,
rather vote for someone other, other,

Semi 2 is set for a titan to fall.

Likely Russia, could be leading to their first non-qualification with Yulia as their singer and with its voting friends namely Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Israel, Greece, Cyprus in the other semi and recent rivals Ukraine and Georgia in their semi. Maybe could get points from Moldova, Serbia, Montegro, Latvia and Poland.

Now I actually feel like semi 1 is the tougher semi, I think that many unpredicted countries will bring it this year like :ee: :fi: :cy: :al:. And at the same time we have countries that are on the rise right now that are waiting for their first win like :bg: :am: (the last have been on the rise for a long time but still) and countries that have a great track record recent years like :be: :az: :at: :il:. It's gonna be really exciting! xheya

I made my annual count, how the semis would end if they voted as they had in the previous years. I counted together the points from one country to the others in the semis, both from 2016 and 2017, and divided them with how many chances they got to get the points, and the one that got the best average got the highest points. Some countries didn't fully get a total 12-10-8-7-and so on, so I had to randomize the lower points on some parts, but other than that, this is how the semis would look like (Green is jury votes, red is televote):

Semifinal 1:

Semifinal 2:

Well, this doesn't say anything that this would happen in may, it all comes down to the songs, but I find it still interesting and fun to look at.

That's a stacked second semi.

SF2 is essentially "Likely Qualifiers: The Semifinal" [...] it's going to be competitive.

I feel as if all countries in the first semi except for Belgium and Iceland are winners

semi 2 is gonna be a bloodbath

2nd semi looks much more competitive.

And so on, and so forth... oh, how naive we were. Simpler times, simpler times.

The first half, of the first semifinal has 5 potential winners (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Israel, Belgium, Estonia).
One of them will fail.

in a way it's still true, though. yes, semi 1 has all the big hits while the peasants are fighting for two or maybe three spots, but nobody except probably sweden is a lock in semi 2. the parity among those entries is very high, everything has a reason why it could flop. i tried to come up with 10 finalists from semi 2 yesterday and ended up with an aneurysm.
