That's a stacked second semi. Russia, Sweden, Ukraine, Romania, Norway, Hungary, Australia etc. Poor San Marino stand no chance there :?

Well, it could have been worse for Poland.

SEMI I: :pt: :es: :uk:
SEMI II: :fr: :de: :it:

:bg: is the biggest Winner. Having :es: :uk: :mk: :cy: and :gr: is the ultimative Luck.
:pl: is also a winner with :it: :de: :fr: :nl: :se:  and :ua:
And :gr: with :bg: :am: :al: :cy: :be: and :uk:
Im very happy that :az: and :am: are in the same Semi. I hope for it every year.

If :au: doesn't up its game for this year, I wouldn't be surprised to see us miss out on the final - SF2 is essentially "Likely Qualifiers: The Semifinal". Russia, Serbia, Romania, Australia, Norway, Sweden, Hungary, Poland & Ukraine makes up nine, and then you've got those like Denmark/Moldova/The Netherlands/Malta and more who are 50/50s... it's going to be competitive.

On the contrary, SF1 could then allow some extra space for countries that usually struggle - Czech Republic, Macedonia, Croatia, Switzerland etc. - to make it through if they're decent.

As a side note: Based on what I saw of the stream, I'm liking the hosts! They seem natural, engaging and not cheesy, and that's rare for Eurovision hosts in a lot of years. It's no Mans & Petra so far, but they could make for a great year of hosting if they're given a good script.

Taking a look at the qualifers from last year,

10 qualifers will be in SF1 while 9 will be in SF2 but seeing both Ukraine and Russia will always have a high chance of qualifying it would be 11

and indeed SF2 could be the Semi of Death

Also interesting to note that of those 9 qualifiers in the second semi, 6 made the top 10 last year whereas only 2 countries in the first semi this year made top 10 last year

Just saw that :lv: has no :ee: :ie: :uk: and :lt:, so :lv: is probably the biggest Loser.

I feel as if all countries in the first semi except for Belgium and Iceland are winners, Bulgaria being the biggest one of course. Finland maybe in the risk zone if Saara doesn't send a great song because they basically only have Estonia to fully rely on. In the second semi I feel that Norway is the biggest loser, even with Sweden and Denmark in it. Their song will probably not be strong enough to make it through such a tough semi, I'd bet 100 dollars that San Marino is out as well.

Italys Top7 will be: :ro: :md: :ua: :pl: :rs: :ru: :sm:
Only :al: is missing to have a complete Diaspora-filled Televoting there.

Meh, I feel Estonia was on the losing side of luck. We'll always have Finland though...

I am looking at :pl:. We are really luck here. We have :de: :fr: :it:  :nl: :se: and :ua:.

In the first we would have: :uk: :ie: :be: and :by:.

I hope we will send a nice song and will be in the Final once again.

It's also a nice draw for :mk: with Croatia, Albania and Bulgaria in their semi and performing in the second half. If they send a good song we might see them back in the final again

Hello, it's my first message in this forum :D Speaking about my country (:lt:), we ended up in a so/so situation, obviously we have :ie: :uk: :by: and :ee: in our semi, but I'am not sure if that's really enough to reach the final. Hopefully we will send a decent song, so we could qualify easilly, not counting only on friends ;)

Thankfully you can't give minus points in Eurovision so that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Otherwise Russia would never qualify :p

No but both probably will give 0/24 Points to :mk:

I like this allocation tbh, although indeed I think SF2 will be very tough based on nations' qualification rates.

My impressions:
