I listened to few live performances. Some songs left me cold and some songs sound interesting. I'm intrigued.

The more I listen to Douwe Bob's work, the more I get the feeling i might have underestimated him. I think his songs actually have a high artistic value, it only takes a few listening to get used to it. I heard he is going fur an up-tempo song , but I hope he doesn't go overboard. I think a ballad will be enough for him to stand out, but uptempo has the risk of becoming too repetetive. I hope he sends something like the News, which gets better with every listen and is could sound really great live.

↑ Yeah, that's a pretty good one! Although there's not a single song I've heard of his that that I don't like and they do get better with every listen. Personally I so far like his slower songs a bit more though. Fine Line is just exquisitely amazing, the last third and the build-up to it is delicious. So I was a bit disappointed initially when they said it was gonna be an up-tempo song, but I suppose that's a better call in the end. :D He definetly has his own quite distinctive style though and the artistic value that you talked about, so whatever the song's gonna be like, whilst being refined and high quality, I don't think it's gonna blend into the mass, which is very good. So yeah, I'm quite optimistic with my expectations tbh. ;P

Are you sure about the part in bold? It's impossible that the deadline is set on 9th March... the MF-final is on 12th March

Up :D

Eurovision commentator and Eurovision In Concert host Cornald Maas was interviewed by Dutch radio about the changes in the voting this year. Ofcourse they talked about the Dutch entry aswell. Cornald only said 'It's not a ballad, nor an uptempo song. I also wouldn't call it a country song'. According to Cornald it can be described as real music, a comforting song. source http://www.nporadio2.nl//snack/570/songfestival-op-de-schop

lol

I have no idea what to expect. Looking at his songs so far, I think it could be A. a borefest or B. a piece of art.

Last september Douwe Bob told in a Dutch tv show (DWDD) that he's in it to win it. He is very motivated to do well. Since his Eurovision entry will be part of his new album, i think we can expect something good. The first single of a new album, has to be really good to make sure people are interested in buying your album. Im sure he knows what he's doing. Not quite sure if i will like the genre myself.

Looking at the NF's i think it will be a tough year. There are so many great entries and i expect strong entries from countries like Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania (or will they choose Ruta...), Finland, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Armenia. That's already 9 countries! Oh i forgot Poland if they send Margaret. Sorry Douwe... :(

I think that Dowe Bob is a lovely singer and his songs are beautiful. However, I am worried that the fact that he will perform in the first half and that many successful countries are in the same semi (:ru: :ba: :gr: :az: :hu: as well as :am:) means it will be very difficult for him to qualify.

I forgot to mention this in my previous post  Well with a outstanding song + performance he will qualify. Im not quite sure about the chances of BiH and Greece this year, as i'm expecting two crappy entries, but i do agree they have bigger chances in qualifying than the Netherlands anyway. We need the same magic as in 2014. Please DO IT! xbb
