I agree, Armenia's awful "Boom Boom", despite not qualifying, was still a bordeline qualifier. So I wouldn't worry about

this year tbh
ESC2011 you summed up the situation quite well imo, it'll be difficult for you to qualify, but not impossible. The draw will tell us your chances of standing out, and the staging will also be very important. Last year was such a disappointment imo.
True, It's not impossible, i'm just saying chances are slim and they get slimmer and slimmer as I see more songs revealed. Countries who we have to compete with send the strong songs, while countries who always qualify send weaker songs (see Greece) which probably still won't be bad enough to NOT make the finals.
It will indeed depend on the performance, which I'm confident will be great, Douwe Bob is an amazing live singer and also is very charming in front of the camera. In terms of staging I'm very uncertain, since the same guy who is directing the performance is also responsible for the success of the Common Linnets, but also for Trijntje's bomb.
I think the staging will be better than last year though, since Douwe seems really competetive en committed to this competition. With Trijntje I had more of a feeling she went on a vacation to Eurovision to meet people and have fun, while ignoring the fact that she actually had to prepare.
All signs she would fail were there, she grabbed a random song of her friend Anouk's computer, revealed it, and didn't look further into it. Then a few days before the contest everything turned out wrong, dress, camera's, staging in general. I already knew last year we were out after I saw the performance. I understood why we didn't make the final last year, but if Douwe doesn't make it without a good reason like Trijntje, I will riot.......(O)
