Ok, after a few more rounds: Quality song, very solidly produced. I'd like to see more stuff of this level in the ESC. The only thing is that I still can't find something that makes it stand out, like that special soothing flair of CATS. So it will probably not do just as well, but it would be a crime not to let it pass to the final.

I'm actually starting to fear our position to qualify. Of course the song is good, well produced and of a high quality, but this doesn't have to say anything in Eurovision. Just cause it deserves to qualify doesn't mean it will
Were in Semi 1, which i see as a way stronger semi then Semi-final 2. And because of the huge number of countries this year, only 10 of the 18 continue.
Of course several spots have already been given to countries who can send anything and still qualify: :am: :gr: :az: :ru:
Then we already have great songs, which have a huge chance of qualifing: :hu: :is: :hr: :ee:
That leaves 2 spots for :nl: to compete with, probably :cy: :ba: :at: and :mt:

............good luch Douwe

ES2011 Just have to say that Armenia failed in 2011

I actually know, but song was so exceptionally terrible (especially live) that even though it represented Armenia it didn't qualify. And despite it being so bad, it only came short 1 or 2 points to qualify still. I see it more as an extreme exception, if any of the countries I just mentioned sends anything coming close to halfway decent, it qualifies, no question about it. And as far as it is :am: and :ru: are not awful and I'll doubt :az: or :gr: will send a trainwreck like Serhat's song ;)

And while we are at it, I can also include :ba: between these countries since they never failed to qualify for the finals yet

Honestly, since even Lonely Planet qualified, I see there is no easy way Armenia to fail.

I agree, Armenia's awful "Boom Boom", despite not qualifying, was still a bordeline qualifier. So I wouldn't worry about :am: this year tbh

ESC2011 you summed up the situation quite well imo, it'll be difficult for you to qualify, but not impossible. The draw will tell us your chances of standing out, and the staging will also be very important. Last year was such a disappointment imo.

We can't be sure, but it seems the juries helped it.

The same happened with Serbia 2011, Ukraine 2012, Georgia 2013 and Azerbaijan 2014 and 2015. Serbia and Georgia also failed to qualify at least once, so it's possible for every country to qualify, even if the songs aren't the worst of the competition.

Russia and Armenia are already in the final though. Bosnia is in danger, because of the juries. Greece and Azerbaijan seeming not promising, but who knows...

I'd say Douwe will qualify. I would rage if not...

True, It's not impossible, i'm just saying chances are slim and they get slimmer and slimmer as I see more songs revealed. Countries who we have to compete with send the strong songs, while countries who always qualify send weaker songs (see Greece) which probably still won't be bad enough to NOT make the finals.

It will indeed depend on the performance, which I'm confident will be great, Douwe Bob is an amazing live singer and also is very charming in front of the camera. In terms of staging I'm very uncertain, since the same guy who is directing the performance is also responsible for the success of the Common Linnets, but also for Trijntje's bomb.
I think the staging will be better than last year though, since Douwe seems really competetive en committed to this competition. With Trijntje I had more of a feeling she went on a vacation to Eurovision to meet people and have fun, while ignoring the fact that she actually had to prepare.

All signs she would fail were there, she grabbed a random song of her friend Anouk's computer, revealed it, and didn't look further into it. Then a few days before the contest everything turned out wrong, dress, camera's, staging in general. I already knew last year we were out after I saw the performance. I understood why we didn't make the final last year, but if Douwe doesn't make it without a good reason like Trijntje, I will riot.......(O)

I like that song more and more! It deserves to qualify definitely. Every year we have the one simple, quiet song that we see in the final. Hopefully Dowe Bob this year.

This song has something special. It´s not the best song, but I think, it can do well. I give it 8 points at the moment, but it can grow up during the next weeks.

This song is actually not as good as I first thought, but it's still nice and is sure to make it to the final. I give it 6 points :)
