Can't agree. The live performance has started to convince me this could be a real contender. It gave me something the studio version didn't. Now, If I could just figure out what it was...

Oh, and how dare you compare the fantastic Only Teardrops to the generic garbage that was Running Scared sir. Even from you, this nonsense shall not be tolerated.

Well i'm afraid my good friend, I shan't be backing down. Both of those mentioned winners were beyond generic, incredibly safe. We'll have to settle this outside. I challenge you to a duel.

We shall both play Nico's discography on our harmoniums. The winner shall be decided by me. The loser is to be paraded around the City of San Marino naked, and must take the walk of shame down a specially made red carpet plank, to then dive into a sea of shark infested waters, as celebrities watch on.

I am however glad that you are enjoying "Walk Away" more now. I hope in time that it will grow on me. The song I may find to be nothing special but Trijntje at least has the ability to set herself apart as she is a very accomplished artist.

I never post from my mobile, I hardly even ever text or do emails, because the automatic word detection winds me all up against the wall. I even get them in the wrong language....

Communicating was more fun in the old days than it is todays.

I'm use to all that predictive lark now. It does still annoy me though when I type a word and my phone kindly changes it something else completely unrelated, and when I change it back my phone pulls the same stunt again.

As much as i love this song but unfortunately, Trijntje lacks charisma and owns a face of plastic, it's hard to see a trace of emotion there :(
Whether it's too much botox or something it still doesn't look good.
I really hate saying that, she's only 40 yo but she looks really old.
So they will have to come up with something out of this world and focus on backing singers to make this whole thing work.

I don't mind that it is repetitive. It's easy to remember!

Well, thankfully we're 5 months before eurovision and what mattered to me in this performance was her vocals, which were good enough.
Visually-wise it looked out of place, but I'm sure that until esc the director of the performance will manage to change that completely.

heard the song for the first time. I quite like it, it could go well for the netherlands, especially because they've got rid of the "they never make it to the final"-image. cross my fingers for them!

The song is really good, but they don't have to allow the performance to ruin it. The live performance added no extra value or magic, it was rather ewwwww..

Only Teardrops was even more generic than Running Scared because it was not even a real pop song, but something that was created by formula in a Eurovision lab - there was too much cliché in that song to force it to win.......

Only Teardrops is not something you'd hear in the charts often, it's basically a more poppy Eurovision-friendly version of something Florence and the Machine would do, so to say that it is somehow more generic than the utter beige blandness that is Running Scared is beyond.

After seeing the performance I'm beginning to think Netherlands will be staying in the semis again

Am I the only who thought the performance actually increased their chances of doing well?

The performance showed that there won't be any problems vocally and that Trijntje has star qualities. The only thing we lacked was a performance, and I lack a kind of big note or some kind of oomph at the end of the song :/

If those things get solved, she'll be doing very great

Her live vocals are as good or even better than the studio version. But the performance needs something different. Instead of cheerfulness and smiling Trijntje should show some pain and desperation, since she sings about an unhappy friendzoned woman in love. And she needs to work her eyes like Ilse or Conchita did. That's where the connection with the audience is.

I heard she is going to have the same stage designer like Ilse had, so I am not afraid at all that she will set the stage and the crowds on fire.

Actually, I don't know what could prevent me from casting all my 20 votes for her, since this song is so much better than anything else was this year.

Ok ... I never listened to an Eurovision-entry that early ... mostly because I get in this Eurovision-mood way to soon.
Guess what happend: The song is in my head and I can't stop listening to it + I wish it would already be may
It has this "something" like "only teardrops" had, which I felt would be the winner from the first moment I heard it.

Quite decent, but I expect once we hear all the songs it wont really stand out :( However, the best for the moment and right now, Id give it 7 points :D

Watched the live performace from Dutch The Voice... and when the backing singers look more cool than the actual singer, then you are in serious problems... I am sorry Netherlands, I can't see this pass even in a sucky semi. :(

Emmelie De Forest smiled all the way through "between us only teardrops" so it's not an issue
