I like the dutch song this year too, but it is nowhere near as close as good as Birds or Calm After The Storm. But I do like the 90s feeling in the song, that still have some fresh feeling to it, just like Anouk songs have nowadays. But I feel that this could work well on the radio, but I doubt if ESC is the right forum for the song... But I agree with those that put the Dutch song first in the personal ranking! :D

When I hear the song, I immidiately think of Anastacia (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x67trYfuzV0) and honestly this song needs more Anastacia in it.

The Common Linnets looked like losers before standing on the stage, and after they did they won the semi-final finishing 2nd in the final. This is probably not going to win unless, it does not sound like a winner, it sounds like something Malta or United Kingdom would send and finish 22nd or something. It could have been much worse, it's a nice try and I bet Trijntje can reach top 5 if they make the performance as good as The Common Linnets one. This song is a grower, but Eurovision is not suitable for growers.

And Anouk? Are you guys sure it was just not a username?:lol::lol:

At first listening to the song I liked only 'Walk Along'. CATS grew on me in the day of the semifinal while 'Birds' is not my cup of tea at all.
So I guess it's my fave entry in 2013-2015. 8/12

I like this song. Still too early though to give it a 12 since we're about 5 months away, but good start. 8 points.

It reminds me a bit of "Ne engedj el" (Kati Wolf's A Dal entrant). Trijntje has the best voice by far of any of the Dutch entries of the last three years, and the song is nice enough, but it doesn't really go anywhere. Also, "whyayayay" is profoundly annoying. 7 points from me.

Not a bad song. Kind of repetitive by the end but I guess they're trying to aim for an "anthemic" touch, and with a good live performance isn't impossible to achieve. 8 points.

THE GOOD

-This song is a bit more memorable than the other entries so far, mostly because it's a pleasure to listen to Trijntje's vocals, which are just the right amount of sweetness to blend with the instrumentals.
-Regarding Anouk's 2013 entry, you would never have guessed that she wrote and composed this song. "Unexpected" is the word of the day here and that's a good thing for this entry.

DEPENDS...

-Is this song deep? Perhaps not, and that's OK, because at the end of the day, not every song needs an underlying meaning.

THE BAD

-The song, while pretty good, doesn't excite me as much as it should.

THE VERDICT

While the song is not all that exciting, it just works somehow for me. 7 points

Excuse me but I invented the word eargasmic© back in February 1978 when Amanda Lear released her iconic Disco album "Sweet Revenge". I have the word copyrighted and will sue you.

I permit the words usage only for when describing the music of And One, Soap&Skin, Nico, Amanda Lear, Kurt Vile, Mac DeMarco, John Cale, Elena Sinyavskaya, Alcazar, Valentina Monetta and MarieMarie's "Candy Jar".

No, I invented the word and I am not even English....

Anyways, I wish you well and many eargasms on Why-y-y-y-y.... xwave

I hope Soap & Skin won't sue you for putting them into a basket with Valentina Monetta and Alcazar xlol

Since the latter let me hear a lot of songs sang out of tune, I need an eargasmic redemption

I only listened it once while I was getting ready for work but all it gave me was a MEH vibe. It is definitely a radio friendly sound, however the repetitiveness of the chorus drives me up the wall. Geez, 2015 is off to a really bad start. Three songs that are all average or below.

But maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it. I'll listen to it again later tonight. For now it's a 5 1/2 pointer so I'm rounding it up to 6.

Mlyn I shall forgive you for using my copyrighted word as you made mention of one of my favourite synth pop bands BWO. I own all their albums on cdxheat You mentioned the wrong song though. I've never really been a fan of their ballads besides "You're Not Alone" and "Sunshine In The Rain".

Now "Marrakech" is an eargasmxqueenbitch
