Wow, one of the members of our parliament called Kvitová "a human trash" for changing her permanent residence to Monaco
he's getting so much backlash xheart needless to say that the MP is a former communist :p

Last Saturday, the 24-year-old Petra Kvitová beat the Canadian newcomer Eugenie Bouchard in straight sets to take the Wimbledon title for the second time in her career. But the glow of that victory has been somewhat dampened following a demand by Social Democrat MP Stanislav Huml that the player, who has listed Monaco as her place of residence for the purposes of avoiding income taxes, should be stripped of her Czech citizenship.

Berdych and Safarova live there as well.

German matches in 1st round

Men

Philipp Kohlschreiber [22] vs. :ar: Facundo Bagnis [Q]

German number one shouldn't have big problems with him. The roles are obvious, but everything is possible.

:kz: Mikhail Kukushkin vs. Jan-Lennard Struff

This is an open match, but I think Kukushkin is slight better and will advance for the next round

:es: Pablo Carreno Busta vs. Andreas Beck [Q]

They played against at a Challenger Cup in Rome once and Carreno won. I think he will win again, because he's an upcoming player and Beck had his best years past.

Matthias Bachinger [Q] vs. :cz: Radek Stepanek

Also Stepanek had better years, but he's still strong enough for 3rd or 4th round, so I think Bachinger will lose

:au: Matthew Ebden vs. Tobias Kamke

I don't know Ebden, but Kamke sometimes advance for 2nd round in Grand Slams and Ebden (#94) is behind him in ATP ranking, but only about 20 places, that's not much. Once they played against Kamke won, but that was 3 years ago.

Peter Gojowczyk [Q] vs. Benjamin Becker

So at least one german will go for the next round. Don't know who. They both have their advantages.

:au: Bernard Tomic [Q] vs. Dustin Brown

I'm surprised to see Tomic as a Qualifier, that means Brown is in advantage. I would love to see him in the next round. He's so cool and popular world-wide. His hair: AWESOME!

These are all germans in men's tournament. Tommy Haas and Florian Mayer, former #2 and #3 in Germany, are injured and young talent Alexander Zverev failed to qualify.

Women

Mona Barthel vs. Shuai Zhang [32]

Mona Barthel is talented, but anyhow she doesn't show that. All in all, the next round is possible, but Zhang is a very strong opponent.

:it: Flavia Pennetta [11] vs. Julia Görges

That's a bad draw! Görges loses her class and have to fight in every match. Don't think she will make it.

Angelique Kerber [6] vs. :ru: Ksenia Pervak [Q]

Not a big problem for Kerber. She's a constant. I don't think she will lose a match before the 4th round. After that, everything is possible and depends on her opponents.

:us: Sloane Stephens [21] vs. Annika Beck

Our young and unseated players have bad luck with the draw. That's poor, because in this match two young talented player's are meeting. But I think Stephens will win.

:ca: Francoise Abanda [Q] vs. Sabine Lisicki [26]

Does anybode know her? I see, she's very young and she's far below Top 100, but that's all. By knowing Lisicki and her shape this year I'll declare that match totally open.

Andrea Petkovic [18] vs. :tn: Ons Jabeur [Q]

Go Petko! xcheer She's absolutely my favourite player! I don't think she'll have big problems with Jabeur, who's also a very young player.

That's all! No more germans qualified. I think Petko and Kerber have some chances for the quarter final, but all other players, women and men as well, won't advance too far. 3rd round is the maximum for them.

1st round is done, and most of my predicitions for the german players went true. Bachinger and Struff both won their matches, both surprisingly to me and both in an impressing way. Bachinger beat Stepanek in the minimum of 3 sets and Struff lost the first two sets. Also Barthel won, not uber-surpringly, but it was not predictable. And she also won very clear with 6-1 6-2. Well done, girl!

The biggest surprise was made by 15-year-old talent Catherine Bellis from USA. She beat this year's Australian Open finalist Dominika Cibulkova from Slovakia. Maybe she will become the successor of Williams sister's!

German matches in next round are:

Men's singles

Philipp Kohlschreiber [22] vs. :fr: Michael Llodra [WC]

Don't know about Llodras current form. He was a well player a few years ago. I hope Kohlschreiber could beat him.

Jan-Lennard Struff vs. :us: John Isner [13]

No chance for Struff. Isner is too strong!

Matthias Bachinger [Q] vs. :uk: Andy Murray [8]

The same here! Murray is currently one of the best players!

Peter Gojowczyk [Q] vs. :ca: Milos Raonic [5]

Unfortunately the unseated players have bad luck in 2nd round with the draw. Maybe one of them could be one seated player down from #20.

No other player made it to the 2nd round. Don't think that more than one will advance to the 3rd round, and if so, that'll be Kohlschreiber.

Women's singles

:us: Varvara Lepchenko vs. Mona Barthel

Barthel in another open match. Can't predict the outcome. But most times, german girls weren't constant enough for good results.

Angelique Kerber [6] vs. :ru: Alla Kudryavtseva [Q]

All matches between them went for Kerber. Hope this will be another one!

:us: Madison Brengle [WC] vs. Sabine Lisicki [26]

Lisicki had problems in first round and this round it won't be easier as Brengle plays in her home country.

Andrea Petkovic [18] vs. :pr: Monica Puig

There were three matches between, and Puig won 2 of them, including the only match on hard court. Petkovic have to improve her play comparatively to her 1st round match against Ons Jabeur, where she needed 3 sets.

I don't think that all girls will pass the 2nd round, but 3 is possible and I hope Kerber and Petkovic will be two of them. They have the vlass for quarter- or semi-finals!

Big day today, two of my favourite players play their R4 matches today:

:rs: Jelena Jankovic against :ch: Belinda Bencic
:cz: Lucie Safarova against ::na Shuai Peng

If they both win they will meet each other in the quarterfinal --------> means one of them will be in the semis. xcheer
