I didn't know where to ask this but I was on my phone and didn't really pay attention during the voting but did we connect with Portugal and the rest of the countries after we lost them? I don't remember Spain getting Portugal's 12!

Yes we did, although it was after they'd already "done the maths", but I think in another shock twist following the Greece/Cyprus scandalle Spain did not receive 12 from Portugal!

I'm happy Italy didn't win, they we're obviously pushed by their starting position while Sweden had 17 songs after them.

Sweden's running order was probably the best they could have got considering they picked the first half. Relatively late on, between two quite slow songs. They even put a break right before them. All this benefited Sweden. Italy's draw on the other hand was extremely hit and miss. Yes, a late running order can enhance an entries chance as they'll be the most memorable when it comes to voting. But it's a double edged sword as shown by Molly last year. They are just so many song before last place and viewers get bored, even more this year considering there was one more entry. People on the forum dismissed Italy's chances after the draw but praised Sweden's.

But I believe that people had Italy fresh in mind, while not really the same for Sweden. Obviously Sweden had a great starting position aswell between two ballads, but I believe Italy had the best starting position considering the song they had.

And Loreen won, just because Russia performed 6th. Just admit, Mans had a mediocre song, and didnt even come 2nd.

Italy's draw could have gone either way. The EBU knew that when they made the ranking. Italy were at risk of missing out because of it. Sweden on the other hand were given a very comfortable draw tailored specifically to the song. It just goes to show how much the EBU wanted a Swedish victory

No, I don't think he has a mediocre song. Out of the Russia-Sweden-Italy top 3 I think Sweden had the best song and the best performance

I believe that the interest for Eurovision Song Contest is not big and entuastic enough for Italy to host it according to the EBU, and I think EBU has been scared that Russia would get the honour to host

not biased at all

Excuse me, is there anything wrong in thinking your own country was the best? :D I'm sure there are loads and loads of Russians and Italians who thought their performance was the best. Would've you reacted in the same way if an Italian or a Russian had said my country was the best?

In terms of just the Saturday performance, Måns was ahead of Il Volo comfortably and absolutely slaughtered Polina.

I wanted Russia to win, but after I saw Italian performance, I knew that we must come second. Il volos song was pure perfection.

Well it is different tastes. I liked Montenegro more than Sweden, cause we are share pretty close cultures. And you liked Latvia and Sweden, more western choise I think.

Ok, lets screw Eurovision, and watch Melodifestivalen every year instead.

That really is no excuse. It's still unfair manipulation by the EBU

Sure, it's unfair. But that's the reality of it! I'm not saying Sweden deserved to win because of that, I just opened my mind xshrug

If that's the way you feel!

I'm still not 100% sold on "Heroes;" I just thought the performance was really great, and my biggest disappointment of the entire year is that Polina sent a Western pop peace ballad instead of something that sounded like it could've come from Russia and Russia alone.

Whilst I find all the speculation that Mans can't actually sing the song quite amusing, that winner's performance didn't exactly help the conspiracy ;)
