The rumours that for several weeks have been claiming that the band MaNga would represent Turkey at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest have finally been confirmed by the country's broadcaster TRT. An agreement between TRT and the group has been finally reached.
After this agreement, MaNga become the Turkish representatives in Oslo 2010 and thus the 7th male act to perform in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest.

The band won the MTV Europe Award to the best European act last year, and since then they have been expressing their wish to represent Turkey in Eurovision.

MaNga have been crowned after Sebnem Ferah and Emre Aydin, the other two candidates in the race to represent the country in Oslo, dismissed this possibility owing to their respective schedules and plans.

I have to say that we might have the winner then...:p

MaNga seems like a very cool band and if the song are like the old songs they have and with the popularity they have all around Europe, then nothing can stop them.

But still, the song has to be heard + alot of other countries that still are left to choose songs! :)

I hope they won't get MVO syndrome.
Uhm, on the other hand if Hadise was allowed by the juries to become 4th last year then MaNga deserves more, imo... Though rock & pop/rock entries don't do well since 2006 & Lordi.
MVO got my vote, so MaNga has all chances too, depends of their song.

Wicked!! I knew it :lol: I'm getting ready to be proud of Turkey's performance for the 4th time after Sertab Erener, Athena and MVO! No matter their rank will be- I am sure sth in the first 5 or 3 or 1 :roll: - at least we are not gonna be represented by a cheesy look and low quality music! Cant wait for the song! It is being soooo exciting this year!!!!! Thanxxx TRT :D

Don't think Manga can kick Athena and MVÖ from my throne of favourite turkish entries. But at least soooooo much better than somebody like Hadise who was just shaking her milk factories. :roll:

As for the song I want to hear reed flute (ney) soo bad! Some maNga songs really make me have goose bumps and it is probably because of the ney :) I think they will play to the popular though, so I expect a song like "bir kad?n çizeceksin" and "dünyan?n sonuna do?mu?um" in its general look. On the other hand, they will probably think of being different to the European ears and add Anatolian instruments as in "dursun zaman" and "hayat bu i?te". Especially for the intro part, I expect the show to be glorious! Probably then the song will make everyone bounce and finally with the bridge part they will bring the goose bumps and the turntable back to the play :D I expect the song to be in English as they mentioned. I think I am more stressed out for the lyrics than the music, hope they dont try to give social messages but do talk about feelings :)

Personally i don't like maNga songs (except some like Beni Benimle B?rak). It looks like we can get a good result in Oslo. I hope song will be a song that i can support.

I couldn't have asked for a better Turkish artist than Manga. I admire Turkey the fact that they always manages to send some of their most popular artists, whether it's Hadise or Manga. Both do they represent different genres. Diversity and originality is something my country could learn from.

Excellent choice! Hopefully the song will meet my expectations for a band like Manga.

I read on esctoday that Manga would sing in English. I have never heard an English song from them. Now i wonder the song more.
