Re: TÜRK?YE - Turkey 2010

Never trust the news nowadays. The announcement is coming and all the media make numerous fake news. Ofcourse one or a few of them will be come true and they'll boast with that :D I still think it will be 'manga' but i'd prefer Sebnem Ferah....
Fingers crossed**

I don't like Manga or Sebnem Ferah. Emre Aydin or Hande Yener would be great!! :D

I would LOVE to see "Nez" the 2010 Turkey artist. She, I feel, has some of the best, worldly enjoyable music in Turkey right now. Her english is very good, oh oh and she dances VERY WELL and is SEKSI!

?ebnem Ferah confirmed that TRT approached her but she refused as ESC doesn't fit into her plans. So, that's one name less!

Re: TÜRK?YE - Turkey 2010

 It seems as if it's been the latest anouncement ever for a Turkish representative... It means 'less' time for preparing 3 songs and one of them to be chosen... I don't have big hopes for this year
Wish to see a well-organized National Final in 2011. I can't stand that much slack anymore.

It was obvious that ?ebnem wouldn't participate because she released a new album and will be busy with its promotion, concerts etc.

I don't know why TRT waited this much this time. As i remember, last year they announced Hadise in October. I can't wait :)

I'm quite surprised to see them waiting this long indeed. The previous 3 years we knew the artists before New Year, and now.........well, i hope it's a postive thing we're waiting for.

Re: TÜRK?YE - Turkey 2010

I see that sexy dance shows and electronic beats have been taking over the ESC stages after the televoting system has been introduced. I should say that only the success of Ruslana and Lordy made me happy in this whole period. They were wild, loud and different. They did not only challenge the expectations from an ESC song, but also showed that predictions about the success in music should depend on something beyond a given formula.

When it comes to the names those has been discussed to be TRT's choice for Turkey in 2010, I absolutely support Manga! I believe, if Manga goes, Turkey hosts the contest next year. Manga has a unique style in music that they combine the western and the eastern cultures -just like Turkey does-, they melt classical with the alternative in the same pot, they turn the beats into a heterogenous harmony of intense expressions, add oriental spices and sufist requems to melodies, season their art with graphic desings, animations and manga figures.. These gentlemens are pretty talented in creating fusions of images, beats, riffs, and traditional instruments. They represent the anger of teenagers and the confusion of the rest. Be it rap, oriental and rock, they are going to be the dazzling show of 2010.

Though I am a fan of ?ebnem Ferah, I think she does not bring something new to the audience. Murat Boz is a fresh look for Turkey, but it is gonna be nothing but a repetition of Kenan Do?ulu at ESC, the same goes for Tarkan as well. After witnessing the shameful Sibel Tüzün and Hadise experiences, I seriously think Hande Yener and Atiye should stay home.

If, TRT officials are wise enough they would announce Manga immediately, let them rock the ESC stage and get the votes from their fans in all over the Europe! Just check http://www.mangafan.web.tr , you will understand what I mean. Their fanclub is one of the most active ones in Turkey. That is how Emre Ayd?n and Manga, both, won the Best Act of Europe awards. Fansite of the former always supports the latter in such constests, the opposite is also the case. Unfortunately, EA is not that impressive on the stage, so Manga must prevail in TRT's choice.

Sorry, what does exactly 'funclub' mean?

Sinem Saniye, who won the Indi Music TV's contest in New York, released her new album. She explained: "I wanna represent Turkey in Oslo. But there is no proposition from TRT yet."
Here is the her song;

I don't think that she will represent us in Oslo but she is a young, promising musician. Maybe she will do it in one of next Eurovisions.

^It wouldn't be worser than Manga to do it

It is very interesting to see how people's tastes in music and approaches to ESC differ. I am pretty certain that Manga goes to Oslo this year ( not because I take part in the commission but I just like to predict! through rational reasoning for sure) :geek:

I persuate the evolution in Hande Yener's music but she still can't dance! I really do not understand why Turkish female singers are this bad at dancing! Any ideas? She perhaps should give rock music a try.. I even do not want to mention Tarkan. I think the whole megastar thing is nothing but a PR success. He wouldnt take the risk anyway...

I saw Portecho and Bedük was also discussed in the forum, I like the music of both. Bedük looks too arrogant on the stage though, I don't think people would like him and vote. Portecho is cool but if they were not able to achieve popularity and commercial success in Turkey, it is probably gonna be the same case for the ESC. I did not have the chance to listen Bora Uzer's album songs, but as I remember him from Kangroove's live performances, TRT may want to consider him for the next year. Also, I would support S?la, her first video was impressive!

Moving beyond the rumours, I would also support Sebnem Ferah but I am so glad that she refuses it. It is just not her thing and that is why I love her.

If one day, someone I love cheats on me in a terrible way, I could end up listening to Emre Ayd?n in my bed and crying my heart out.. However, in all of his concerts Ive been to, I got seriously bored. His voice depresses me as well. He is always sad and vulnerable.. I dont think it goes with the ESC concept at least for Turkey..

After all, I don't understand why Manga is the worst choice like we have a whole selection of good quality popular music. Who cares what sort of music they do? Rock, rap, nu-metal, hard-core, pop, fusion whatever it is, they have an amazing energy on the stage. Everyone starts to bounce eventually in their concerts. This summer at R&C their performance attracted officially more people than the Prodigy's! Both of their albums brought commercial success. They have been to Europe several times and people were going crazy for them (I saw them in Sziget Festival several years ago and in Cologne recently, like 3 months ago). I think some of them speak English pretty good as well as German and French. They got well-respected awards, most of their songs and both albums made it to the 1st ranks in music lists. Their song "Bir Kad?n Çizeceksin" was selected to take part among the musics of FIFA 2006. EMA award came recently. It is even not controversial that they are good at catchy melodies. ESC just seems like their thing to me... We will see... :)
