I read on esctoday that Manga would sing in English. I have never heard an English song from them. Now i wonder the song more.
Their first song is ready. They prepared it after EMA. They'll prepare two songs too and TRt choose one of tem in february. I don't like Manga but at least they're better than Hadise. I'm not trusting them. I just can hope.

Re: TÜRK?YE - Turkey 2010 - MaNga

maNga, the band who'll represent Turkey at the 55th Eurovision Song Contest, spoke about their thoughts about the upcoming contest in Oslo.

They've got a lot of media attention since last Monday when it was revealed they were picked by the Turkish national broadcaster to represent their country in Oslo.

"This is a competition we would go to without thinking and we'll do our best," said Ferman Akgül, the vocalist of the band, "We started preparing for the Eurovision Song Contest soon after we got the MTV Best European Act award. "

According to him, maNga will choose their song very soon.

The jury from the broadcaster, TRT, will meet in mid-February to make their final decision on which song will represent Turkey in Oslo. The song will be introduced to the public as soon as a clip for it is finished.

They didn't give any definite information about the song but they said that they would decide it with TRT in the middle of february probably.

Great! maNga gives ESC some musical credibility. I hope the song they pick isn't just designed to win Eurovision votes but to show that ESC isn't just about over-made-up disco divas. Haydi maNga!

^Nope according to a few interviews of them, they haven't written the lyrics and they have not a certain decision on songs' languages. But they are a bit more closer to English as they said.
Samy, hi again! There were only you and me who think a NF is the best choise and i guess we'll be in a few years... Maybe after Manga there'll be no other so -pushed- artist who's also voluntary for this.. Then they try to hold one in max. 2 years huh? :D

Re: TÜRK?YE - Turkey 2010 - MaNga

I like the pic, it looks classy.. I agree with the punky hair though, it is not cool anymore..

By the way, Ya?mur Sar?gül has nothing to do with emos. Emo is a subculture with a philosophy behind it, make up for guys and hair on the face is not its determining features. Moreover, neither his thoughts nor does his music remind me emo culture at all.. I respect his musical intelligence and productivity so much that i feel sad when people on web constantly underestimate him because of his look. (Also dont understand why being emo is always subject to negative critics..)

For a tip for English- Turkish discussion, the bonus track of their first album was an English version of their song "Kal Yan?mda" with some Turkish parts. It was a really good one and what I understand from their comments is, in their ESC song the distribution of Turkish and English may be like that one. I dont expect them to come up with a full Turkish song since they have been meintioning that they want to reach as much as people they can with their music..

TRT will select Turkish song tomorrow

MaNga, the band to represent Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, delivered 3 songs to TRT. Songs are in English as we reported earlier, but they have also written Turkish lyrics. TRT will select the song tomorrow and will explain their decision to the public the last week of February.
MaNga finally delivered 3 songs requested by the Turkish broadcaster TRT, in accordance to the contract signed between both parties.

Songs have been written in English. MaNga had informed earlier that the song with which they will represent Turkey in Eurovision will be sung in English. Nevertheless, they also prepared Turkish lyrics wisely.

Turkish broadcaster's jury comprises 10 people. They will select the song to represent Turkey in Oslo, out of the 3 songs entered. The chosen entry will be published, as well as TRT's decision explained, the last week of February. The preview video for the song will be prepared at the beginning of March.

Our song will be released soon. I'm very excited. By the way, i can't enter Manga's official website. On the page, there is a countdown which will end on this sunday at midnight (http://www.manga.web.tr/) I don't know what's happening and i wonder so much what will happen when the countdown ends. Maybe it is related with the contest.
OMG i can't wait, can't wait, can't wait! :D

Re: TÜRK?YE - Turkey 2010 - MaNga

I just checked their Twitter and they wrote: 'We're going to Armenia to say 'Hi'' 4 hours ago. I did liked this. I always supported a Turkish representative to do this and my least fav. one just doing that
I'm really curious about the song. I hope Trt doesn't prefer the Turkish lyrics.
