i repeat: that the delegation chose this song over others they might have had around is likely because of fuego indeed, but the composers very likely were NOT thinking of fuego when they made this one because fuego was already obviously inspired by other things.

the only true case of pretty much plagiarising another eurovision entry is :ie: 2003 being a copy of :dk: 2000.

Enough with the ******* Fuego 2.0 rubbish! I'm just sick of this lazy argument put forward when people don't like a song - the same thing happened with Cascada's "Glorious" being called "Euphoria 2.0". Same genre does not equal same song.

So delighted that Realest and Alaska49 have come in with some sense in this dull and over-used argument.

Why is it that this only seems to happen with dance/up tempo tracks and not with ballads? I could pick out any number of Balkan ballads year to year that have basically used the same themes and melodic phrasing, but I realise that popular music is based on various tried and tested themes so the argument is moot. xshrug

Switzerland is always overrated. But this year is insane.

Lol. This is probably the most laughable comment of 2019. Switzerland, overrated? The country that flops almost every year bar some random miracles? I think you meant :at: instead, honey.

Luca was part of the International professional Jury 2016. This was his Vote.

But it is not much about the same genre. Cascada's song had a similar chorus, and She Got Me has a similar chord progression to Fuego. But I agree with the point you make. ;)

Iker - I don't get the supposed similarities in Glorious and Euphoria's choruses but yeah, my frustration is getting more and more difficult to hide haha. She Got Me and Fuego's chord progression is that classic pop chord structure that the majority of modern pop songs use to hook in casual listeners ;)

I like that they will try to reflect the videoclip on the stage but dancers on led screen usually look so cheap.
If he gets a revolutionary staging, :ch: could really snatch the win.

First of all, I couldn't care less about yours or anybody's notion about laughable comments. Second of all, Switzerlands flops although they are overrated in polls year after year, while Austria is every year's underdog that prevails. And please, spare me your honey.

It seems some forget that Austria was the super flop irrelevant country of eurovision before 2014. xshrug Even now you're so heavily reliant on the juries, with 2016 really being the only year to buck the trend. In each year since 2011 you've only been in the top 10 of the televote in the semi finals in 2011, 2014, 2016 & 2018. I really wouldn't call that prevailing when europe ritually ignores you and it's the juries who carry you over. Even on the forum you do better than Switzerland. 2014, you got 109 12s in the poll, 69 0's, yes. But that comes with being a favourite ;). Same year Switzerland got 51 12s. 2015, your epic 0 point placement as host. 34 12s, Switzerland who crashed and burned in the semis, 28 12s. 2016, Austria got 59 12s, with quite a lead of anything below Switzerland got 24 12s, almost beaten by the votes for 6. 2017, Austria got 29 12s, almost beaten by the 0s on 24. Also lets remind ourselves your presence in that final was purely down to juries again, with you getting 0 from the public for the 2nd time in 3 years. In this year... Switzerland got 27 12s. Now for last year, Austria gets 51 12s, almost as many 8s and single figures on anything below a 5. Switzerland gets 18 12s, with more votes for the 10, 7 & 6 pointers. So your argument is built on nothing, you're certainly no underdog on this forum and even in your claim you still manage to out perform Switzerland in our forum polls in basically every year. 2019 is the first year since 2014 that Switzerland has taken a lead over you.

What‘s your point exactly. Austria is the country that Europe hates but fans on the forum don‘t?

For three consecutive years, Austria was predicted a borderline qualifier or no qualifier according to the odds, while Switzerland with a cheesy and ridiculous song was the fanwank of the year in 2017. Cesar Sampson was for no apparent reason out of or at the borderline of youtubers Semi Top 10 but got the same televote score as Netta. Cesar was buried by the starting order as was Nathan, and Christer Björkman is said to have a grudge against ORF because he was not allowed to run the show in 2015.

Austria outperformed oddchecker three years in a row by at least 10 to 15 places. Switzerland underperformed in 2017 and is set to underperform this year. We hardly can‘t underperform because we already are ignored by bookies yet again.

Qualifying for the final we did 5 times, once with the help of juries, once with the help of televote. I wouldnt call that being ritually ignored, i would call UK being ritually ignored. Therefore your comment is a little rich coming from you.

Underperforming in the televote is a problem for most western european countries and Australia, that is why juries are here in the first place. That is why Austria chose to internally pick quality entries in order to safe a place in th grand final over juries, televote is extra. That is what many countries do now. Appease to th juries for Saturday night ratings. Eurovision is a lot of revenues for little expense if people tune in.
