Also, I would be surprised if Ciara doesn't get all kinds of offers after her performance in Masked Singer. For someone who doesn't sing, she was crazy good.

Realistic: I guess it could be kind of fun to see Danny enter again, with a more competitive song maybe than his last demo-sounding one. His career sure would need it.
Cazzi Opeia's last song was great, so she would be a nice pick to have defend the trophy.

Not likely: The Ark have reunited and they have yet to release new material since their reunion, so where would be a better place to launch their new lead single than Mello?
If they just put proper effort into their song this time instead of submitting something out of their reject drawer, and deliver something that's at least comparable to their classic anthems, I think they could still pretty easily score highly if not win. If they make it to ESC they could then easily be the returnee-redemption of the year.

Pie in the sky: Darin could win Mello with his eyes closed, and it would be fitting for him as he seems to be focusing on releasing English language songs atm, but the likelihood of that is less than 0.5% percent. He also did Så mycket bättre again last year, so that makes it even less likely.

In general I have stopped hoping for surprising/big names to compete, as that probably isn't happening anytime soon. Though of course, it would be very fun for us to be represented by a proper established act on home soil. But mainly I just want there to be more "competitive" songs in varied genres (Smash Into Pieces, Medina, Clara Klingenström, etc).

Lastly, if there's one thing I hope SVT has learned from UMK and Käärijä this year is to choose more Swedish songs and then put the proper money behind their stagings. If there would be any year for us to send a Swedish song, it would be when we are hosting. And of course, if we could just get one name that was as relevant as KUUMAA, that would be pretty fun too.

I think out of established names Smith and Thell are likely to enter. We can forget about indie girlies like Agnes, and Winona Oak...

Out of the returning names I'd like to see Danny, Lancelot, Felix Sandman or Eric Saade (Benjamin Ingrosso as well but he's too big rn probably), and Dotter or Clara Klingenström. That's it.

I will love to see them back, they were huge in Italy in early '00s: "It takes a fool to remain sane" and "Calleth you, cometh I" are still on my playlist. They were part of the Nordic/Scandinavian colony which topped our charts from '97-2003 (with other big names such as Aqua, The Rasmus, Andreas Johnson, Lene Marlin, Cartoons)... Oh, the good old days! What a time to be Alice that was...

So Hooja are doing both Allsång på Skansen and Sommar i P1... Maybe that means they'd be somewhat possible as this year's epadunk act? Would without a doubt be at the top of SVT's wishlist.

Doubt it, they are too popular and SVT would never risk an actual popular act with a Swedish language song (nor would a popular ask risk taking part in MF so it goes both ways). Allsång på Skansen is usually attracting some big names, MF in its current format is not.

Eternal MF faves of the 2010's have just released a new song co-written by Fredrik Kempe after a 3-year break... Expect them to show up in next year's line-up I guess...

They have never really been anywhere near winning Melfest, and they are mostly considered a novelty act here in Sweden, but streamingwise they are one of the most succesfull acts to ever come out of Melfest, the kids love them.

I like their songs... It is obviously not the best quality in composition, lyrics, etc. but it is joyful (and really great as party songs).

Changes to melodifestivalen in 2024. There will be 5 semis with 6 songs in each. Andra chansen will take place at the end of semi 5.

As much as The Second Chance round had to go, I think they still don't get the core of the problem and it's the songwriters/composers and musical direction (primarily), if it continues this way a trillion semis won't help.

It won't be a big deal since they spread their front runners pretty evenly anyway.

Are they shortening the shows? Six songs for a 90min show. Considering how boring the semis got this year...
