With Sweden being the host next year the only thing I really want is that they have the courage to pick a song 100% in swedish
That would require SVT and the MF team to finally stop being oikophobes who hate on anything Swedish...

The problem is that now with this victory, it probably just emboldened them and they will take it as a sign that Melodifestivalen is good, which it hasn't been for years, so unfortunately I don't see any changes coming up which includes a more respectful take on Swedish language entries.

Who is Veronica Maggio? Her name is very Italian... Is she another Alessandra for any case?

Would be great but obviously wishful thinking. We will continue having an MF with the in-house songwriters, has-beens, joke songs in Swedish and your typical MF bubble acts...

Lol Alessandra wishes...

Veronica Maggio is one of our biggest female singers, I would say the most popular for the past couple of decades. She's kind of a indie-Pop, Vispop in style. There is no chance with the current format of MF and the current team behind it that she would even reflect taking part. No actual popular singers in Sweden want to take part in MF. As much as I like Loreen and find her talented, she literally went back to MF to save what could be saved of her career, she is an MF and ESC royalty but outside of it she didn't manage much (for instance Veronica Maggio is a much bigger name here than Loreen).

Maybe they could co-host

They are both renowned actors in Sweden so that's not the worst idea. Eva Rydberg also was a theatre director allthough I think she retired from that now. Probably what speaks against it the most is the immense work load it takes to host considering they are both quite old now.

In that case, I'll silently wish for them as an interval act.

Dirty Loops - We know they've sent in songs, what's holding you up, let them compete!
Yohio - Same there, for some reason they don't want him in the contest, are they afraid he'll win?
Faith Kakembo , Nathalie Brydolf, Felix Sandman, Rejhan - not a super fan of either but i'm curious what they'd bring.

I'd also like to see a really big, spectacular Rolandz / Owe Thörnqvist / Sean Banan-style joke/novelty entry do really well for once, they've kinda avoided having any since Christer Björkman left.

Also, did anyone notice there was no Eric Saade-style "dancing boy" entry in the 2023 edition?

Sabaton, Arch Enemy or Amaranthe. Or something else, as pop.

I would love Arch Enemy in Melodifestivalen, highly doubt they would win though. If a metal act should win it needs to be less hard core to appeal to a wider audience. For instance Ghost, Hammerfall, or Mustasch.

I highly doubt she‘ll come back, but I want a song in swedish from Molly Sandén at Eurovision so badly. Being the voice in the Eurovision movie is not enough for her amazing (just speaking from personal preference here) voice!

Would love that but she's too big for MF now, and as I've written plenty of times in here, with MF's current format and the team ruling it, we won't see competitive Swedish language entries in the contest nor music truly reflecting the Swedish music market. There's simply too many in-house songwriters and MF bubble acts that would be out of work if they couldn't hold MF hostage because without the contest, they would be long forgotten. It's basically an internal club and they are so behind everything (the language being one of them). They still live in the illusion that English is the "it" language in Swedish Pop when that hasn't really been the case for almost like a decade now.
