My Prediction

Final Kiana
Final Mariette
---------------------------------------
AC Smash Into Pieces
AC Axel Schylström
----------------------------------------
5th Loreen
6th Signe and Hjördis
7th Emil Henrohn

I think Tattoo is being overrated but I can't imagine a scenario where Loreen fails to qualify. I'd be surprised if it was AC even.

I'm guessing Kiana, Loreen and Smash Into Pieces will be fighting for the direct to final slots.

Could see Mariette being eliminated really, I've liked some Mariette songs in the past but this one feels like one of her weaker attempts. Definitely can't imagine her going direct to final at the very least.

That Loreen song better have something fantabulous in store for its final two minutes as right now it sounds like any other in one ear and straight out the other Melo song from the past few years. Euphoria was epic. Statements was daring. What are you, Tattoo? We'll find out on Saturday, I guess.

And this Melodifestivalen has made me sad 😞 It seems as though it's likely to be the first year ever where I'll come away without loving a single song.

Gosh I am obsessed with Emil Henrohn's song in full. It's so catchy!!!! He should have a shot on a semi spot.

Tattoo better go somewhere because the snippet has 1/2 the lyrics in it already with 2 minutes left. I feel many drops and a lot of you-oo-oo's to fill the time.

I just can't understand how this is what Mello has to offer after Hold Me Closer.

You'd think they'd lean more into the singer-songwriter, authentic aspect, but no ://

If people heard Euphoria now, for the first time, without visuals, just an 1 minute of it on STV website with just a picture of Loreen, they would have said the same thing.

Ok so the full song is amazing. It builds more and more for each verse and chorus and it just feels massive in a way? The staging is really cool too, they've found something unique and some shots are divine but I feel like they can make it even more perfect.

I totally disagree as Euphoria had a mysterious first verse (you could sense something big was brewing) and was then immediately impactful, making its presence felt in a powerful way once the first chorus hit, all of which happens within a minute of the song. I compliment it as not even a huge fan of the song personally but I respect its impact and how phenomenal an entry it was. Tattoo I don't think has managed close to what Euphoria achieved in its first minute (It didn't need to copy it, it just needed to feel strong and special). The staging has me intrigued however, and as I said, I hope it develops into something better than its first minute, but so far this for me goes into a big pile of eh ok-ish I suppose with everything else.

4th MF heat, based on studio version snippets:

1. Signe & Hjördis – “Edelweiss” 10/10 – this is so minimalistic, Scandinavian, that I love it. It sounds genuine and brilliant, such a delicate vocal harmony, this can easily be my 2023 MF fave..and I hope and feel they can be Clara Klingenström of 2023…

2. Axel Schylström – “Gorgeous” 10/10 – Auuu what a plesent surprise, reminds me of my 2009 MF winner Darin in combination with John Lundvik, Im such a sucker for old school RnB ballads, didnt expect it will be smth like that based on the lyrics.
———————————
3. Smash Into Pieces – “Six Feet Under” 9/10 – a bit MF-ized, more than I expected, but this will be really good..

4. Loreen – “Tattoo” 8/10 – as I already said, it is all right, but not soooo special.. But it is only the beginning, we have to see and listen to the whole entry, hope it is not too pompous, G:Son style..
——————————–
5. Kiana – “Where Did You Go” 6/10 – the small trip to 90s, but not the greateast one.. lol

6. Emil Henrohn – “Mera mera mera” 5/10 – lol a bit silly and childish, I knew it won’t be for me that much, but expected smth different. Could be fun on the stage…

7. Mariette – “One Day” 3/10 – this is really cliche, really tired of her entries…

Oh wow, Loreen's staging looks really cool. Can't wait to see and hear the full thing.
