Girl we have got to start sending something with a little more sugar and spice in it. I think Hanna Ferm & Liamoo is a good example.

From the MF final, I can only see Bishara do better with the televotes than John (but much worse with the juries, of course). Do you think we would've gotten credit in here for being in touch what the people wanted if we had sent him? Oh boy...

Hanna & Liamoo were my favorites and it would have been nice to have a decent ballad in this year's line-up but I don't think they would have done any better than John. He was definitely the best choice this year.

maybe they or anna or someone would do better in the televote. any of them would win jury anyway, so...

Jon Henrik would do well. He is probable choice for next year, Vikings are IN again, after Rasmussen and KeiiNO, this is quite good way for Sweden to get a lot of televote points

Jon Henrik missed his biggest chance in 2017 (I wanted Mariette to win but I think Jon Henrik was the right choice). If he comes back next year, and the Swedes send him to Eurovision, everyone would think "yeah now that Norway did so well last year, Sweden copies them". I mean we see it every year. Rybak won? Bring on the violins. Foureira came second--->Switzerland, Cyprus send the same thing (even though it was all Sacha again). A ballad wins? The following year we see dozens of ballads.

If I were Sweden, I wouldn't change anything. Better safe than sorry.

Austria take notes! We shoot ourselves in the foot every other year ....

But I am not Sweden and I have many suggestions what to change....

This years sweden thread was boring compared to last year. Somehow Im starting to miss the Sweden-Hate. Maybe Bishara with a song by Benjamin next year?

Bishara doing better with televotes? He wouldn't even qualify with that dreadful entry he had and shaky vocals... it might work in Sweden when media is pushing some story, but I highly doubt Europe would care too much as was apparent with France this year if anything.

"So incredible delightful to see that expression" *Face with Tears of Joy emoji* x3
Inserts a video of John Lundvik's reaction to his televote score

Schadenfreude at its best, it's very unfortunate that people have to be like this xcry

Eric Saade's greetings were apparently off script and quite ambiguous. "I wish I could be there, maybe next year" alludes to the fact that he is not permitted to enter Israel due his father's Palestinian origins.

I think it's more a hint that he might make a comeback to MF, and having a "Palestinian" father doesn't mean you aren't allowed to enter Israel. I can't tell about the father himself, but Eric was born in Sweden and as long as he isn't on some blacklist like our foreign minister, he can enter Israel like every other Swedish citizen.

I believe he would have appealed to to the young audience who is more likely to vote. Just like he did in Sweden. What you think of his song is irrelevant. Televotes work like this: If 95% of the people hate your song, and 5% love it, you're gonna get points.

Wow, this is already wow, this is already becoming trend for Sweden.

2015 mans 1st with jurry, 3rd with people
2018 ingrosso 1st with jurry, flopped with people
2019 lundik 1st with jurry, flopped with people.

Maybe there are other Swedish examples if someone can remember like bergen Dahl or frans. I guess people are fed up with malversations of ebu or jurry.

And can people again explain how being top. 10 in televotes being equal to "flop" !? Because I for one don't see it as a flop xshrug

Yeah, like 3 points from those 5%

Seriously though, thankfully we will never find out, I think he could have even ended up in the bottom in the semi that's how bad it was...

Maybe if he mature vocally and gets a better song we can talk about the future, but frankly I'm tired of us sending Pop boys... but that's for the 2020 thread I guess.

Wow, OK I'll try to explain this in simplest way possible for u to understand me. Sweden won jurry and they still finished outside of top 5. That's called flop. Sweden was in top 3 of all 40 countries with discrepancies between jurry and televote pts. With jurry they got 230 pts and with televote 90 pts. That's called flop. Especially, since Sweden is always expected to win or finish in top 3 at least because of jurry and because u have that renome. Diff story would be if it was San Marino, then even top 10 sounds like massive result. Have a nice day!
