Sweden is obviously gonna get placed between 7-13... like usual when they draw first half. And no, I am not against Sweden. I love their entries but their is clearly bias whenever they draw their placement.

They are consistently top 3 in their semi-finals so what do you expect the producers to do lol
And I was about to write it and say that people would point about bias and favoritism towards Sweden anyway if they got a position between 7-13 lol

underwhelming and weaker than melfest and unfit for top five and the youtube views agree with me. he will probably do well though.

iTunes is bad indicator to measure a success for a song in the first 24 hours, Youtube and Spotify are way more reliable but we'll need to wait until Saturday to see how the songs from semi-final 2 did on Friday on Spotify.

You can clearly see that semi-final 1 songs didn't impress much while the hype for The Netherlands and Italy are real.

Edit:
forgot to mention Spotify isn't available in many Eastern countries though.

After yesterdays performance I'm not so sure anymore that this will win. On the other hand - neither of the other favorites really convinced me either.

They missed the effect of revealing the Mamas which made the song a winner in Melodifestivalen. Otherwise, I think the performance was flawless.

None of them are real indicators because the vast majority of people watching on Saturday will be hearing the songs for the first times and are a different audience to those watching the YouTube videos. Spotify if misleading because entries like Soldi and Arcade have had months of streaming momentum behind them.

He‘s still my number one, but he was less charismatic that he used to be, at least that was my impression.

Camerawork was significantly worse than in Melfest, otherwise a great performance with everyone on song. Sooooorta doubting its winner credentials though.

The Mama reveal in Melfest was pretty amazeballs.

John did good, not as good as in MF though, but still it was so refreshing to see a good live singer coming after some pretty bad vocals prior... I still think we have one of the better songs this year, but something felt off in the performance (although technically it's identical from MF), something with the lightning maybe? camera angles? The Mamas didn't just "appear" like they did in MF, that effect didn't work here for some reason or the camera didn't capture the moment properly... they need to fix this for the final.

Indeed, Too Late for Love is not a charter, it is a song made for Melodifestivalen/esc. We tried a charting pop song with a big staging last year and it didn't turn out well with the public. Soul/gospel responds well and broad in Scandinavia and he looks and really is a nice guy, that's it. The winner needs to reach out to the viewers and convince them to vote and it have often little to do with results on Spotify or Youtube. The Mamas convinced me to vote for him.

Yes! They brought all the energy. This song captivates you in a magical way. I'd say the arena was the loudest during his performance as well. xheart

Sweden was the most popular act on social media as the voting was closing up. :) And it's been picking up on YouTube as well. For the first few hours, it was even behind Denmark. The ones watching the performances at night are hardcore eurofans anyway, this is why Sweden was so low - it did not change much from MF so there was no "new" element for them. Makes sense.

Yeah the support in the arena during Johns performance was amazing!
Based of how it sounded on the TV I would say John got the loudest applause from the audience after the performance.

Seems to do quite well on Itunes as well.
I still think we are in the race.

I heard first time Swedens entry yesterday and it was meh. Too much close ups on his face freak me out. And I had feeling his song lasted for 23 mins and not 3 mins. Lol

Yup, that's true. It's not going to change, Swedish singers love themselves af.
