Indeed, Too Late for Love is not a charter, it is a song made for Melodifestivalen/esc. We tried a charting pop song with a big staging last year and it didn't turn out well with the public. Soul/gospel responds well and broad in Scandinavia and he looks and really is a nice guy, that's it. The winner needs to reach out to the viewers and convince them to vote and it have often little to do with results on Spotify or Youtube. The Mamas convinced me to vote for him.

Interesting point actually, we just have to wait and see

You know when a venue is problematic, when the staging looks better and more spacious in Melodifestivalen...

Considering he's only the 9th most watched act on YouTube from yesterday, I would even consider a jury-only qualification...

And Sweden was leading the charts when the voting was about to close. Of course social media does not mean much but YouTube depends heavily on views coming from their own country /population as well so it's never too reliable. Cyprus should be easily winning televote if that was the case.

Guess we'll see tomorrow.

The fact that smaller countries like :al: & :mk:, where Eurovision is not that popular and even  have more views, considering their total population equals :se:'s, sounds like a really bad indicator for :se:'s televoting success. Even :am: has more views.

1. North Macedonia qualified after like.. what.. 6 years? Of course lots of locals are watching the performance now, even if they didn't tune in for the actual show
2. Albania and Norway also rarely do well, makes sense again
3. Sweden qualifies every year and though Eurovision is very popular over there, they definitely don't make such a huge deal out of qualifying alone.
4. Isn't Srbuk a local superstar with a wide following?

John did good, not as good as in MF though, but still it was so refreshing to see a good live singer coming after some pretty bad vocals prior... I still think we have one of the better songs this year, but something felt off in the performance (although technically it's identical from MF), something with the lightning maybe? camera angles? The Mamas didn't just "appear" like they did in MF, that effect didn't work here for some reason or the camera didn't capture the moment properly... they need to fix this for the final.

The song is very very average, doesn't stand out for me at all. If it's now an idol contest and just about the vocals I'd say his vocals are alright but with a song like this he doesn't really have to do very much, it's very unambitious.

Winners on Unibet 2019-05-17. They think it's a runaway winner, I highly doubt it. It's going to be close

Strange, when I wrote about that regarding some countries success after semi 1, I was replied with "YT doesn´t tell all" but now when our song is not doing good on YT, it´s suddenly means a lot.

But no, it´s not any hate towards our entry

I really love the large double-standard fans have

I love how Cyprus gaining 2 million views and clearly being the most popular performance from semi 1 does not mean anything at all but Sweden gaining views slowlier than some other acts means it's a guaranteed flop.

That’s because Tamta’s really popular though all her rehearsal clips get views really fast

oh so we are going to pretend the greek/cypriot fanbase isn't cuckoo banana pants crazy just to appease the fragile swedish psyche? fine

(ps: the swedish fanbase is ALSO pretty nutty and john's views are still tanking, sooooooooo...)

YT don´t tell everything, if it had, then :ru: would have won the televoting last night which they didn´t

I remember that Eric Saade was one of the most popular on social media after his performance back in 2011 and that wen´t pretty well for him

If you only look at stats on YouTube and esctracker, you will miss your mark. Eurovision is one night event where 99% of the people watching have never seen or heard these songs before. Odds and and will shift dramatically during the night.
