I expected Sanna to win Melodifestivalen. She has a powerfull voice, and her song is as pompous it can get, and get away with it. The prisms hanging from the ceiling are beautifull, and the glitter and lights also plays a big part in setting the mood. That's how you can fool an entire country to believe a mediocre song is really the very best. Would have loved to see Ellen Benediktson in the final, but no suh luck. Mediocre 6 points to sweden.

What a fantastic song from Sweden again this year. So different to the last couple of years. It's all about the voice and the lyrics which will certainly stand out in the crowd. 10 points so far. Top 5 at least!

What annoys the hell out of me is all the Ace fans being so butthurt and calling "Undo" an outdated ballad...I would like to know what constitutes an "outdated song" because I really don't see a well written ballad as "outdated" and another point these Ace fans saying that Sanna will flop like Anna Bergendahl are just being bitter! The reason Anna failed in her semi was not because it was a ballad it was because the girl can't sing! Sanna has proved time and time again that she is an amazing vocalist! A ballad that did progress in that semi "Shine" which was rated highly by both the Jury and the Televoting because Sofia was amazing vocally!
If Ace managed to get those 3 extra points she would not have done well because it would have gone down like Hannah Mancini last year! Hannah had a poor song with extremely poor vocals like your beloved Ace Wilder.

Sanna deserved this win, she has a stellar voice and the song itself is amazing! (Despite that one line in the song that makes little sense)

Oh and I must add and stress that BALLADS ARE NOT OUTDATED!

I don't see any connection between Anna's song and Sanna's song.
Apart from the fact that Sanna is way more experienced, This is my life was a folk ballad and a difficult song for a first-time viewer. Undo is a pop ballad, much easier to the ear and with a strong chorus.
As for Ace, in my opinion, she would crash and burn in eurovision...just like Finland did last year.

This is what I am trying to say, other people on this forum have been comparing them. I love Sanna and "Undo" and I feel like it is strong enough to do very well

Well I think Loreen, Anouk, and Margaret Berger it's not that cheesy. And the last time I checked in wikipedia, Euphoria even managed into the top 3 of the UK charts.

As I said - there are exceptions. But if you consider the amount of songs that have competed in Eurovision and very few of them really made it into the charts or had a succes that lasted longer than a few weeks. Even the ever cited Abba-phenomen did NOT start immediately after the contest. Celine Dion started her world career years after winning the contest.
And who talks about Loreen nowadays? Does anybody out of the hardcore-song-contest-fanbase even know the name of her second single?
And what about Margret Berger? Any news from her since last year?

On the other hand, artists who DO have success with contemporary songs very seldomly compete in Eurovision (I only can think of tatu for the moment, or Patricia Kaas, but she doesn't count - she's timeless). But you can see them when their career is rather at its end with songs they used to have success with (i.e. outdated ones). Examples? Katrina and the waves (esc was the last time you'd hear anything from them), Bonnie Tyler, Vanilla Ninja, and so on.... Why do you think, that is?

Ow, I thought you were talking earlier about "what kind of music is cheesy and what music is not" instead about "who is still being remembered and who is not". Hmm that's pretty shifted since where we left off..

Yeah it's time to make my analysis from the final! So let's begin...

First of all I'm really really impressed with how good organizers are the Swedish.Last year "Malmo Arena" and the whole show was really great.I hadn't see Melodifestivalen in the past and it was my first time.I saw that this show is far away from our low level shows here.Although I can't understand anything in Swedish I watch pleasantly the show(and I learn also some numbers in Swedish)

About the results:Τhey were unexpected expected.I mean I new that Sanna and Ace would won either televoting or jury but I thought (as many people) that Sanna would win the jury and Ace the televoting.Anyway I approxiamately expected the rest results...

1.Anton Ewald-Natural:Oh Anton,my poor Anton...This song was my fave from my bottom 3 and basically I never hate this. But last night he was extremely nervous and his voice live is really bad and he destroy the song. Also to see an Eric Saade with blue eyes singing a song that isn't "Popular" is also a factor for his fail.I was pretty much sure that the juries wouldn't vote for him but I expected something more from televoting.Clearly fo me he didn't deserve the last place

2.Ellen Benediktson-Songbird:At the first semi I loved this song...but after so many weeks I said no..It's not bad song,it's very good actually but it's kinda boring and generic.Ellen's voice was good enough last night but the song...

3.Alcazar-Blame It On The Disco:Unfortunately my internet was really bad they were singing. But they were still amazing and their song is extremely catchy. As I expected they did well both in jury and in televoting.I knew that they wouldn't win but I'm really pleased witht he third place

4.Oscar Zia-Yes We Can:This song isn't so bad but I couldn't stand to see Sweden with another sweety-baby-Bieber face again. His voice is just ok and nothing more and the song is so childish (well shalalala yes we can?).

5.Linus Svenning-Broder:It was so sensitive song!I don't know Swedish but I don't think that it counts here.Linus do the best that he could IMO.But still he has some problems in his voice.Deseved enough his place

6.Helena Paparizou-Survivor:Our girl was amazing last night. She gave it all (although I hadn't see her in AC) and she was much better from that she was in the semi. I'm pleased that she came 4th because she deserved a great result but sure not the win

7.YOHIO-To The End:Well I really can't stand this guy and the song is the worse from all in the final but it kinda grown on me last night. But still it wasn't from higher place

8.Sanna Nielsen-Undo:She was definately the best last night! Her voice is just amazing and the melody of the song is so beautifulxheart.I really expect this do well in Copehagen because it deserves it.

9.Panetoz-Eften Solsken:When I was watching the result I start crying like an idiot because I understand that the guys wanted to spread the fun into the people and I'm really sensitive with this people...But I'm kinda pleased that it didn't came last...but still upset...

10.Ace Wilder-Busy Doin' Nothin:Ace was amazing in the final, the song is really great and catchy and I would be also happy if this had won.I don't think it is in lower level from "Undo" but it's clearly other kind of song so I can't compare them. But it would do well too in Denmark

the thing is that when ace got 23.8% i thought sanna would get like 24% and that ace would still win.. oh the trolling.. re-watching the votes ace could have won just any time..

germany.. this is the worst thing they have done since WW2 :( just kidding im positive about the jury again because they have good taste and make it really exciting.

i cant complain about sanna because she's so sweet and she won the public vote so..

I agree with you. :) The set with the hanging diamonds is simple but effective. But somehing is missing. I really don't like the catsuit or whatever it is. But I don't want any big changes. I just don't like that black suite I guess. :) But I don't know what would suit the song?

A long purple dress. ;)

Long purple dress + the courtain of diamonds...not sure about that xthink
I'd stick to black clothes, she just needs a more modern and classier outfit.

Still really happy for her xheart Ace can come back any time, she was classy and fun after losing to Sanna xclap that's the attitude!

I find it amusing that you accuse Ace fans of being upset while being visibly upset yourself. Also, your point makes zero sense. If people think Undo is outdated, they think the song is outdated - and they have a point in doing so, I'd say. I've seen nobody saying ballads in general are outdated.
Undo well-written? That's a matter of pure opinion.
In regards to which one of the Sanna/Ace duo would do better in Eurovision - that we do not know, and never will.

I'm only saying all this because your attitude towards Sanna and those that like her song isn't the dandiest. Why would you want to rip into fans who enjoy the song for what it is? By all means express your opinion of the song but why attack fans? Music is a subjective thing. I'm sure our tastes are miles apart but I wouldn't judge you or rip into your taste and derive enjoyment from the failure of an artist you like.

If Sanna Nielsen flops in Denmark this year, the fans deserved to be attacked for supporting something that was destined for failure. They're making the contest look bad by supporting and over-hyping outdated, D-Graded crap like "Undo", "Survivor", "Blame It On The Disco". Too much fanwanking makes me want to throw up...

Just watched the results, Wow that was close. Bless, Sanna has finally won. I like the song despite the lyrics. :D I would have prefered Ace to win. I knew the UK jury would give its 12 to Alcazar.

I don't get the "Hero" vibe from "Undo" though. "Hero" was over-hyped and obviously tailor-made to cater to the Schlager fans. I think "Undo" is a strong ballad with a potentially wide appeal both with jury and televote. By the way the theory that jury would help Sanna win was disproved by the fact that they actually prefered Ace Wilder while the televote favoured Sanna. I'm not good at predictions but I think this will easily reach top 10 if not top 5.
