Someone on another forum posted an something pretty interesting:

2 points is the smallest winning difference since 1999 when the system of 50% televotes + 50% jury was introduced :

2014: Sanna Nielsen vs Ace Wilder 2 points Eurovision: ?????
2005: Martin Stenmarck vs Nanne Grönvall 3 points Eurovision: pre-qualified to the final and finished 19th in the final
2009: Malena Ernman vs Caroline af Ugglas 11 points Eurovision: 4th in the semi and finished 21st in the final
2008: Charlotte Perrelli vs Sanna Nielsen 18 points Eurovision: 12th in semi (saved by jury) and finished 18th in the final
2010: Anna Bergendahl vs Salem Al Fakir 31 points Eurovision: 11th in semi (failed to qualify)

Sweden tends not to do very well when the MF results are close. It will be a test to see if Sanna will follow the flopping trend or not considering she is the first with International juries and not regional ones xshrug
I don't think any of those runner-ups would have fared much better in ESC to be honest, apart from Nanne.

Wow, simply wow. Instead of going for something that is modern and fresh, and has an international appeal, they choose an outdated, D-Grade ballad. Hope you enjoy your moment of happiness because this will be Anna Bergendahl all over again. This is why Eurovision will never move forward with the modern times, nor would it ever be taken seriously by those from the REAL music industry. Hahaha, I genuinely can't wait to rip into the fans when this flops in Denmark.

Why everyone hates it? It's her 7th tries, and she really deserves it.

Who cares if it's her 7th try? She would have truly deserved it if the song wasn't an outdated, D-Grade ballad.

That's one major factor in the charm of Eurovision. being behind the actual musical trends. even the most "modern" or "contemporary" songs are oldfashioned in comparison to what's in the charts. And anything that would fit the charts does not make it to Eurovision. Just look at Brequette this year in France.
Having said this - there are of course some exceptions to what I've just said. But overall, Eurovision is all about beeing cheesy and outdated. That's what I find so appealing in this Event.

Well, I was rooting for Ace Wilder. And I think that this song is very outdated as well, but I take "Undo" as a different aprroach for Sweden as other countries tend to do some dancey music this year. At least we will see some diversity next May. There's no use for complaining, it's already happen. She will represent Sweden.

Well I think Loreen, Anouk, and Margaret Berger it's not that cheesy. And the last time I checked in wikipedia, Euphoria even managed into the top 3 of the UK charts.

The atmosphere at Friends Arena was amazing, I loved it. I got so much free stuff (I bet I have 4kg of candy in my bag). I think Oscar, Yohio and Helena really did their best performance so far, and Ace Wilder! What a queen, of aces..
Voting was so exciting, everytime Ace got more points than Sanna we cheered. It just feels so sad, she lost by two points. If Malta had given her a 4, or Germany had we would be sending a fresh, modern pop song both juries and televoters like. Did we? No.We send something that feels like is from 2008. I mean this is so typhical Swedish, this is so Charlotte Perelli, so Anna Bergendahl, so Eric Saade. A song by Fredrik Kempe that feels outdated, well I hope Sanna is happy when she ends up 18th in Eurovision! I know juries liked the song but hey, televoters will not notice this song, it will be forgotten by other crazy pop acts. I am happy for Sanna just so dissapointed, I hope Sanna never touches Melodifestivalen again!

And I hope Ace comes back next year but only if she has a good/better song, and not do like Yohio - hope he can win just by his name

Oh, Sweden you're saves Eurovision as always...by entries like this, by entries like Loreen.
This is the first beautiful ballad of this year. This is the reason why I have to see Eurovision-2014.

Who cares about the "REAL music industry" when the part of the music industry I assume you are referring to is an ugly, dark, money hungry corporation that is frowned upon by the majority of true, passionate artists that aren't desperate enough to sell their souls to get known? Are you aware that most people outside the mainstream industry (where Ace would surely belong) look down upon the soulless stuff, made on order to please the masses?

I'm only saying all this because your attitude towards Sanna and those that like her song isn't the dandiest. Why would you want to rip into fans who enjoy the song for what it is? By all means express your opinion of the song but why attack fans? Music is a subjective thing. I'm sure our tastes are miles apart but I wouldn't judge you or rip into your taste and derive enjoyment from the failure of an artist you like.
