Australian 12 year old Jasmine Clarke is singing covers of famous songs on YouTube and one of them is Euphoria. She's aiming on a identical performance which is great.

The interesting Melodifestivalen interval act in Gothenburg 2012-02-11 deserve some attention. Music producer and electronica artist Håkan Lidbo is playing a CC-Pad, a new electronica instrument developed at the Mälardalen University.

The act is a mash up of Anniela - Elektrisk, Robyn - Electric, Melody Club - Electric and Leila K - Electric (Manic Panic, 1996). It was apparently planned that Leila K somewhat miraculously would revive and perform together with Jessica Folcker. I have no idea who the stand in is. Leila K is one of the greatest tragedies in Swedish music business.

Leila K / Jessica Folcker "Electric" is one of my favorite 90's songs, I just love it.

And oh, Leila. Such a mess, I loved her back then, but she has herself to blame. But while she was (is) a tragic persona, she added personality to a very mainstream and non-diverse Swedish music elite.

Interestingly, Loreen has a similar background as Leila, and while not being as mentally effed up, she's also a bit odd

But the Håkan Lidbo act is addictive somehow. I can't recall it made much impression when it was broadcasted, but now I think he should release it to Spotify.

Yeah, I remember this aswell With similar background as Loreen I meant her Moroccan heritage, but Loreen's biological father also abandoned the family.

I wonder did Leila K's family distanced themselves from her after she became a mess or before? If before I can sort of get why she became as crazy as she became, it's not an easy thing to deal with.

I guess she was a runaway when she went on tour as a teenager. Apparently she was tricked by her American label so she didn't receive any money from her recordings. I think there have been several attempts to fix this by the Swedish record companies. So a built up pressure in many levels on her and no social platform to lean to, can break anyone. It seems her biggest problem is lack of trust for people trying to help her, but who can blaim her?
