Hi guys! :) I've caught Euphoria fever and I wish I lived in Europe so that I could vote for her.

Damn it! We need more hospitals! There's not enough room!! xD

I repeatedly come in? really?

FYI i don't come in here to say the song is overrated. it adds nothing to conversation, so i don't post unless i have something else to say...

my post was EXPLAINING the word "overrated" to people who continuously say they don't understand it.
Sorry, you kind of were picked from the crowd of "overrated-sayers".
it's kinda funny how this thread goes

random person:
meh overrated, but ok.

die-hard fans:
omg you are so useless! i don't even understand what is overrated! Loreen is the $#!T! go away! this awesome song can't be overrated because i don't understand what overrated is!

so i tried to explain it couple of times... but to no avail
For me, this word overrated IS confusing at this site because it used in such a random way. There is perhaps language translation mistake floating around? BMO, the meaning is very clear. All music charts I know of is based on sales facts (or related figures). In these situations the chart position is calculated and absolute and it's meaningless to talk of rating. A stock can be overrated on the stockmarket. The performances of Darya Domracheva can be underestimated. An artist may promote a new single in a massive campaign and if successful, some people may react against the fans response and dismiss it as hype (if overhype, I guess they mean hysterical).

There is no way I can accept Loreen being either overrated or underrated. However, Sabina Babayeva's "When the Music Dies" can be underrated at bookmakers rating/betting lists. In a certain context e.g. the forums ranking list (official voted list or unofficial), an Eurovision song can be argued overrated in relation to the other songs. Finland's entry may be argued overrated in the "Inför ESC" ratings. etc. The argument is then a personal reaction to a wellknown ranking within a certain context, not an established attribute.

Thus the expression: "Euphoria is overrated!" is missing the situation in which the statement is true and is more or less pointless until the argumentation why the person thinks this way is given.

BTW Euphoria is an awesome song .

as to the potatoes reference... good try
YES! it IS matter of PERSONAL taste...
overrated is MY PERSONAL view at some things. just like some other random person, as well as die-hard's view on this song being the best ever.
IT'S ALL PERSONAL.

so saying that my preferences don't matter... well... how do yours matter then?

it all matters, cause you will vote for something you like, someone will vote for something else. the voting IS part of the show because it's all PERSONAL perference.

there is no universal truth in art.
there is in math, in physics and other sciences...
but not in art. well apart from fundamentals like wrong note...

Thanks, I got the idea in the shower!

Additionally we have of course the aspect of trolling - in which no rules apply .

Relax, all i was saying there's a huge difference between "Oh i love it, that's my number one this year and i would love to see her winning" and "wow i love it, she's gonna win hands down!", nobody knows that, right? We haven't seen a single rehearsal yet. Loreen is awesome and she does a great job, but let's be honest and admit there are other songs and countries deserving to win, that's all ;) Don't say Hop before jumping.

P.S: I thought that snow is out of question, but if she's gonna have it on stage - i'm happy, that's my favorite moment of her presentation :p

Yess, more snow!:cool::cool:

It is better to be a song that people either love or hate than a song that a lot of people think indifferently "oh, this is nice" and then don't vote for it at all.

You're right. This song is not overrated, because it really has caused the largest number of disputes and discussions.

As said vavera4ka in terms of art is the opposite well.

Yes, the same painting: the other day called the most expensive painting in the world - "The Scream" by Edvard Munch. I do not like it terribly, but I will not say that it is overrated.

I don't know if we're lost in translation here, but I honestly don't get your argumentation. So you call a song overrated because it is a favorite, yet you like it, but it falls down your list because it's high on polls? That doesn't make sense to me. It's like the equivalent to starting to root for a song you happen to initially dislike because of majority pressure. I dunno, if I like something I couldn't care less what majority things, good if they like it, but if they don't I won't be bothered either.

I don't like mainstream music, when everybody love a song, i can't.
Every forum talk about Euphoria, all 43 songs haven't the same ad.

She's going to have three backup singers. So that must be them.

Aus is the only dancer (unless I've missed something).

You're right, they are the three background singers mentioned in
