He improved his vocals a little + dance routine was gr8 )))
I think it was even better that he didn't try to break that glass.

Yes, this was good! Finally it worked out for Sweden and my friends managed to cast some votes for Eric, in my behalf. The draw isn't very good, but I am sure it will profit being between two entries that are... put it this way - voiceless. As long his vocals are good, he can probably do well I suppose. :)

Eric sang better as in the rehearsals, but that´s all. The whole song is loud and the lyrics are really....
There is nothing special. Ok, Eric is a cute guy, but that´s all. But I think, this song will reach TOP 10 by sure, there are many fans for it.

This is the biggest package of garbage on ESC stage after Irish Turkey and Latvian Pirates!
At the least the turkey was bad on purpose. It was a comedy act with cheeky lyrics.

Sure, Popular isn't a grand piece of art, but it has a catchy tune. You take away the crappy lyrics (and Eric Saade too, if you will) and you're still left with a really decent melody, in my opinion.
That should not be enough. A good tune accompanied by crappy vocals, crappy lyrics and a good stage show should not be enough to do welll in this contest (many people are calling for it to win Eurovision).

Besides, the verses are pretty flat.

ANNA! I LOVED her! The best ESC Song ever, I alsmost fainted when she didn't get through last year.
Anna Bergendahl had a lot of things going against her. The song is about someone singing about how they've experienced so much pain and that they're mature and independent... sung by an 18 yearold looking like she did.

Her clothes were ridiculous. It's like she tried to look "cool" by throwing on whatever she could reach first in her closet. Black stockings, fake-Converse (or possibly the genuine article at Eurovision), frilly dress, a tiara.

She wasn't that good of a live singer, mediocre at best. Most damning of all, she's such a mediocre live singer that they altered her voice on the CD. It's not just that they autotuned it so she'd be more in tune, they actually altered the way she sounds! Because live, she sounds constantly hoarse. Her live singing voice was just weird.

The song did not stick that well after only one listening.

Remember, she only got 9th from the televoters. Which means that even if she had made it, she'd languish in the Bottom 5 in the final.

You know me so well.

Because that'll magically hide the fact that Eric Saade can't sing?

I think it was even better that he didn't try to break that glass.
The only reason why they didn't break the entire cage was because the Germans only had the time to clean up after one pane of glass in-between entries and would therefore not allow them to break the entire cage.

Eric completely lost his nerves! He was so much better in the national final. If I hadn't seen that, maybe I wouldn't have noticed how nervous he was, but it was completely embarrassing. I thought it will fall out for sure. Oh, and he was the worst singer on that night.

People can hate as much they want. I was scared he would eff it up now that he couldn't rely on backing vocals, less dancers etc.

But I have to say that it was one of the best performances of the evening. Congratulations Eric! People can hate but as a performance; It was the best one in this genre!

And no matter the silly lyrics, this IS one of the catchiest songs this year imo, it just is.

So I just watched the performance again and I can say I'm proud really. From now on I will cheer on my own country. Put the silly lyrics a side, the song is über catchy really. I want a fun, uptempo song to win this again... Eurovision shouldn't be a funeral.

Go Eric!

It was so awful! Eric looked like a little child who lost his mommie. I was scared he's going to drop the microphone and pee his pants....
