The juries vote more about merits which is the big difference. I agree it's not about quality vs non quality. Musicians take music apart a little bit more looking it from a standpoint on how complex it is rather just going for the safe catchy melody, lyrics etc. they may look at it from different perspectives. In addition, they get to listen to the songs multiple times vs only once (for most viewers) which also can make a big difference to give the "non catchy" songs a fair shot!

In the end, it doesn't matter cause the jury won't go away.

From San Marino tropic:

why do you always think that everyody hates those countries ?? They have always qualified for the final. This time, other countries had their chance, and it's a good thing cuz they were always relegated.

"Send a good song and you'll go through."

I never say that everybody hate threse countries cause will QF whatever as send, i but wonder that this year everything was conspiring to take them down as whatever cause for example, How Russia was 7th place in Televote, them 25th in the jury with an good song..??

- If the jury should have sunken to Russia deservedly should have done in 2009 and last year.

No mencions that in the 1 semi almost faild to Malta can enter... No wayy..¡¡¡¡

And also Poland and Norway was victim of the technical difficulties (o mayber sabotage) because they had good songs and also the jury mysteriously sank, as in the case of Norwegian one (If was by televote also pass the final).

Als, if was by the Jury Georgia and Bosnia also was sunken in favor of Belgium xrofl3 and Slovakia  in the 2 semi-final - which would not be fair because every year although the work hard, and send good songs, but not like other western countries like to hear for vote.

I completely agree with the jury votes, especially in semis. Thanks to their votes we were spared of the music torture in the final made by Emmy and especially Anastasiya!

But in some cases is an unfair thing - including Bosnia.

Dino was very weak in dress rehearsals and I don't think that 11th place was unfair in jury votes (even I adore that songs)!

Same here :)
I'm only pissed off about Italy a bit. Didn't even like his performance. But still Italian song was certainly better than Swedish :D

I'm opening a can of worms here and I'm going to get hated on for saying this, but a lot of the countries that did a lot better with the televote are countries that usually benefit from neighbour/political/diaspora voting. The juries were reintroduced to help lessen the effect of neighbour/political/diaspora voting, so I say they did a good job. I mean would Get You have done so well in the televote if it was the Maltese entry? No. Would it have done as well (or as bad) with the juries if it was the Maltese entry? Yes. So the juries are making things fairer by diluting neighbour/political/diaspora voting and giving each entry equal chances. I'm sorry if your favourites did badly because of the juries, but there's no need to start rambling on about anti-East conspiracies (especially as a lot of Western countries did badly with the juries too).
People will be going mad at me now for saying that and tearing apart every sentence trying to quote me out of context, but hey, haters gonna hate. Peace out.

@ David: I understand your point! The juries are there to lessen the effect of Diaspora/Neighbour voting, but they went the other way around. They voted exactly against those countries! Let's say the televoting is subjective and they vote political, but the juries should vote for the songs. Instead they went on voting reveresed to the televoting and voting against the countries wich would score unfairly high with the televoting.

Also you are from a country that needs a good song to qualify so you are happy, but I was used to the fact my country will qualify whatever we send and now the juries are taken it away from me and I don't like it. It's like I was rich and had no worries and now I have to work hard for the money (qualification in this case)

Socialism FTW!!! So Romania shouldnt be getting complacent in it's songs now

Well the juries voted before the televote so it's not like they voted based on the public's opinion. And the juries generally seemed to like ballads this year (:lt: won with the juries in SF1!!!) and the countries who normally do well sent rock and pop songs, except for Greece and Ukraine who were the 100% countries highest rated by the juries along with Romania. For example, in semi 1 I'm not surprised the Cest Ma Vie and Running Scared loving jury didn't like One More Day and Boom Boom. It really depends on the taste of the juries. Next year there will be a different jury (I hope!!!) and different styles of songs will do well. I don't think it has much to do with a country's qualification/success rate.

Wish you "all the best" too but I dare to disagree

The juries weren't reintroduced in order to lessen so called neighbour/political/diaspora voting. If you speak about Ukraine then diaspora doesn't vote for us blindly (during the last 2 years we received 0's from almost all countries with the biggest diaspora), as well as neighbours (I don't think that neighbour voting is a bad thing - in Irish case or Greek case, in our case, in Swedish case etc.; having your tatse and voting for neighbour countries is not a crime).

Oh and btw, Ukraine received more votes from the juries in 2010. So it's not about laying crap at "certain" countries :geek:

Fans don't count as neutrals ;)
I was on about casual viewers who watched the show because there was nothing else on.
I'm not a fan + I liked only 3 performances. If you talk about songs - all of them were nothing but crap, imo. So... yep, neutral. I dislike them all equally

Sorry guys im im verry dissatisfied with this 50-50 voting.. I know that presumably would be the solution to our problems with the voting, but even worse and is more..¡¡¡

This system must change a bit to adjust a bit to the musical and extra tastes of each, because here they show right and wrong justices by the jury.
