I've finished listening to all the songs today, having listened to only some of them before. And Spain is my absolute favourite. A beautiful ethnic song in native language which I love.

The assassination of Spain by German Eurogays.

The thing is, I think a lot of casual viewers will feel exactly like this. And the question is, even those that are fascinated by it and respect the song as art... will they be excited enough to then vote for it?

I usually listen to it, think the performance is cool but also somewhat annoying after hearing "eaeaeaeaeaeaeaea" for a bit too long and feel relieved when a more accessible song is on afterwards.

The last few years, we've seen that televoters are willing to vote for songs that are less accessible.

I'm not saying Spain will be that country, but it certainly isn't out of question especially when all the pre-show concerts, she's been impressing people.

If y'all don't like Eaea because you get tired of it (unfathomable), remember that casual viewers will hear it exactly once and likely be impressed by the power of her voice.

I would like to know what "accessible" means. If this song wasn't accessible it wouldn't have so many fans (yes, people give a lot of 0, but have you seen the amount of 12's?) Or, in the other hand, it wouldn't been climbing the way it is in the betting odds (from 12th to 4th in a period of 2 months, not bad). If it wasn't accessible people wouldn't bet for it, and clearly we are many that think the song will do well. And for those who hate the song, it's alright, as long as it's done with a bit of respect and not the way the people in the video above reacted. Then Germans will give points to Spain in the televote and the casual viewers will find it offensive for their universal taste of music.

I quite agree with this. I sometimes have trouble understanding what people mean by "not accessible" (regarding Spain and Latvia, for instance). What's exactly not accessible here? I don't get it.

I suspect people mean "I don't like this personally and so it can't possibly be well-liked".

Spanish song with an alternative edge.

With a live performance so good the Spanish delegation has to keep it for the Liverpool stage. I love how the Eurovision bubble is into this as much as I am.

10 points.

So, this song is borderline top 10 for me now but very, very difficult to get into it, at least for me. I always have a bias towards Spain, but I really think this is a very inaccesible song.

I think Spain will be doing quite well in Liverpool since her voice really is impressive. I am actually very much into world music and I really wanted to like this song, but I just dont.

This afternoon I 'ave been mostly listening to Spain.....

I've heard the song once before with the accompanying video. This time I listened to a live performance and turned away from the screen.

This lady can really sing. She's got such a powerful voice. No backing singers or effects needed here. This lady probably wouldn't even need a microphone. I could believe that she could perform on any stage without a hint of nerves.

The song is very emotional, and although I do know the translated lyrics, it still communicates without a knowledge of Spanish.

This is certainly a piece of sonic art, and I hope that the staging will find an appropriate way to support it. The impact is this lady's voice and emotion. It doesn't want any distraction. It does not need any embellishment.

I'm sure that this will do well with the judges, but it's difficult to know how the televoters will react. It's not going to appeal to the consumers of fast food music. This is musical cuisine meant for fine dining.

If you don't know spanish, how would you understand Eaea? What is it about? What in the performance gives clear clues what's going on? Blanca is good at projecting confidence and power. Is it about that? Not sure. Am I supposed to feel angry? Empowered? I don't know. It leaves me wondering what all that was really about and when I'm watching the show I won't open up google to check, cause there's another song already coming up.

Compare that to songs like "De Diepte" or "Amar pelos dois" or "Cha Cha Cha". I don't speak dutch or portuguese or finnish. But I immediately understood what those songs were about and the emotions I'm supposed to feel and I feel it. That's what it means to be accessible. I know what's going on just by listening. No further interpretation or explanation needed.

And I don't dislike songs that aren't immediately accessible, they can still be great songs and a cool experience. Eaea just hasn't been that for me and we will have to wait and see if that's not a more common sentiment.

While I understand where you're coming from, it's important to acknowledge that personal taste can vary widely, particularly when it comes to music. Just because you may not personally understand a song doesn't mean that others won't be able to connect with it. It's important to avoid assuming that our individual preferences are universal or that our experiences with music will be the same as everyone else's.
