Some compared this to :al: 2012. The big difference: Suus had character, the song had an interesting structure with high an lows. What’s here to enjoy? :es: 2023 doesn’t have any highs and lows, it’s so static somehow. What’s the big wow effect here, why should I like this? (Leaving the fact behind that her voice hurts in my ears anyway - but what’s there to like about the song)

EAEA for me almost leans towards a pure theatric piece, which means a live and performance would be the best way to enjoy it. That live chanting of ya eaea ya eaea is hypnotizing, like some sort of a ritual.

It might not have the high-low extremes that Suus has, but it has character from the use of a flamenco-inspired singing technique and the excess of melisma. Whether this will interest casual listeners is out of my knowledge, but as a singer, the technique interests me. Even when i finished exam yesterday I tried singing it several times just to learn how Blanca Paloma did it.

Another wow factor is the power of Blanca Paloma's voice and texture. Some people might have the power to belt like her, but to melisma it with power like that is such a skill.

But of course, this won't mean anything if you are instinctively repulsed by the song.

I obviously want Spain to win, and it‘s always good choice to show off traditional music and folklore. But I hate this and I don’t see my country’s televotes going for this.

1 point from me because why choose paloma when you have agoney who would bring Eurovision to Spain and win the whole thing. It's keiino Vs tix all over again. Iritated, and female dancers moves wtf is that. Maybe hurry could push it out of the bottom scoreboard. Qué lastima por dios y no sabe ingles. No me lo puedo creer. Monica naravno diva was million times better than this. This doesn't work for me.

Desde quando tenemos 0 puntes? Hay posibilidad qué me decide cambiar MIs votos. 1 to 0 PT.

Agoney‘s derivative song with diabolic lyrics wouldn’t win. He clearly was inspired by maru, I don’t blame him, he is not an icon.

In any year before the (20)20s this would have been won, but we had a lot of folksy-artsy songs the past years. This year maybe even more, depending on the songs to come. So no way this is gonna go anywhere. At least they didn’t go for another Chanel.

I am so happy she is representing our country. I really don't know who this will go in Eurovision. What I know for sure is that this will be a love-hate entry (the scores here speak by themselves). The song wasn't in my shortlist in the beginning, but this performance is everything: it elevates the song to a ridiculous point. Something to be proud of. Congratulations Blanca!

megarakater? (little german joke)
in a few days you will discover the true music art in this act.
hope to see you later in the year at the german SCC (second chance contest) maybe then with megara or ollie as your no.1. xcheers
Just like you I like arty music as well once in a while, but this song simply doesn't get me. But I think at ESC I can see 2 different scenarios: either the song doesn't reach many people or people are thrilled and it reaches top 10. I wouldn't mind because I understand that there is something about the song. Just not for me. ;)

Btw. Never did took part in the sceond chance contest so far. ;)

It's definitely a risk, one that has paid off in the past but also flopped so hard too.

This was my 3rd favourite of the final so I'm not overly mad.

I hope she will do well at esc, I'm so glad that she was chosen. My favourite esc-Spanish song since Contigo hasta el final.

EAEA literally uses electronic plucking synths in the back to create a trancing effect, but you do you.
Eaea is like the intro to a season of White Lotus taking place in Marbella, while Shum is a crazy party the owls are having at night. You don’t get go compare the two because one is a repetetive, decent song and the other is a masterpiece with peaks and valleys

I am sorry that this is the only thing that I can say about this song, but gosh this is just so bad. It feels like a bare noise once 3mins is over.
