Greece 2019? Are you referring to the music video or the live staging? Because the live staging was pure nightmare fuel! That, plus some atrocious decisions regarding backing vocals, destroyed one of my favourites for that year.

Indeed, full of theatrical cliches, what a pity

No offence to anyone but this song is so weird, and yet I don't know if I like it or not. This might grow on me. I love how very Spanish it is and this is what I want from Spain in Eurovision, it worked for them last year but this year I have no idea how this is going to do.

Spain 12 points!!!!! No matter how it goes in Liverpool, they made the right choice!

Blanca is incredible. The performance is pure art! If Europe doesn't get it, it's their fault. I'm not saying this is a winning song. But AT LEAST a top 10 is deserved. Modern flamenco at its best!

Vamos Blanca!

Isn't this song in the same wheelhouse as France 2022? I could see the outcomes being the same
This was my first thought too! (Though I liked :fr: 2022 and I don’t like :es: 2023) It‘s also not accessible at all for the casual viewer and I can also see many juries having this in their bottom 5

Some compared this to :al: 2012. The big difference: Suus had character, the song had an interesting structure with high an lows. What’s here to enjoy? :es: 2023 doesn’t have any highs and lows, it’s so static somehow. What’s the big wow effect here, why should I like this? (Leaving the fact behind that her voice hurts in my ears anyway - but what’s there to like about the song)

I might be wrong, because I don't follow what's happening on social media, but surely no one had any problems with Miki once the Muérdeme girl did a Roxen before Roxen herself did a Roxen.
You are right, Miki was supportted indeed, although it was kinda second option after the fanbase favourite María (Muérdeme) was very open about not being too excited about Eurovision.

Juries in the final should not be putting Spain in their bottom 5 this year, Blanca Paloma can really sing, her voice is so good, regardless of how polarising the song is.

The staging, but mostly because Blanca mentioned that when she starts the song the red corridor is meant to be symbolic of the birthing canal

Juries are not there for just voting based on vocals. They also have to look at staging, song structure, lyrics, instrumentation, production value etc

I think this can do well with both the juries and the televote. The public is usually more open for experimental and ethnic songs. Of course we have to see what the full line up this year looks like.

I agree, I just think when juries make their decisions, vocal performance is usually a big deal for them when you look at previous Eurovision results, and I'm glad that they do because the public usually don't show enough appreciation.

The bookmakers has pushed Spain a good number of places downwards in their ranking in recent days. They must have thought Agoney would win.

Lovely theory. Shame half of them don't actually do that. And I say that as an ardent jury-defender.

Yes I mean that’s how it SHOULD work - theoretically.

I really like it! Such a vibrant mix of modern music with flamenco style! And interestingly performed on stage as well.

Blanca Paloma just cast a spell on me that I cannot get out from, so I am captivated.

I think this entry will receive a lot of dislike but that's not surprising to me.
