Well, I don't really like the suggestive lyrics and the emphasis on sexy but even if I wasn't a fan, the performance was great and I understand why people liked it. I don't understand how she got so much juriy votes, imo it would be more like a 10th place, because I thought that juries have also to take into account lyrics and the song (which, in my opinion, are the weakest points) while watchers just vote for a performance wow factor (which is the strongest part).

The vocal also counts and Chanel introduced higher vocal ranges

I didn't repeat the same stuff over an over again. She can dance but that's about it. In the beginning I find the performance boring and tacky. After I know the lyrics I find the performance boring and cringe. The only reason it stands out in this year is because this year's entries are significantly worse than last year's. The year's entries show the characteristic a friend of mine mocking about Eurovision: the songs sound (10 years) more dated than mainstream music.

As I said before, and as Chanel stated herself, they represent a kind of artist that usually remains in the shadows: the artist from musicals, who is singer but also a dancer and an actor or actress. Everybody knows very famous musicals, but do you know the artists who make them possible? Musical artists are to the music scene the same that theatre actors are to the acting profession. They don't get recognized the same way as the bands and solo artists, but they work the same or even harder. Look at Chanel's perfomance: they are out of breath, but they are still controlling their face expressions, they are playing a role. Perhaps people in the juries know this world much better than we do and they appreciate the performance as a whole: a song, but also a dance and an acting.

Yeah, I agree with you : she has been great and she deserved to get points from juries. But as juries are not supposed to be *only* relying on the live performance, I think that she was a little bit overrated when getting top 3 in a lot of jury vote because the song itself is not *that* great, that's why I was surprised.

But here we have to think in a balanced way: when you get a high vote for a technically perfect song, the jury is criticized for having awarded "the usual beautiful voices" and "the usual poignant musical lyrics" (things that are always criticized in Italy that is based on this kind of song) while when you get a high vote for a catchy song and "live show" (which is the trademark of the ESC and guilty pleasure of Euro revelers) the jury is criticized for having awarded "a not excellent voice"and "a mediocre lyrics" (this is when the song is brought from a feared nation - like Spain which is a musical giant that many fear that it will wake up).

Chanel sang well: the voice was perfect for the musical genre presented and because dancing in perfect sync with the dancers, acting, seducing and singing is of absolute difficulty. The voice, when you make a physical effort, is affected. Something has to be lost to get balanced evidence in all areas of performance. Do you know who has this talent? The artists of musicals. I work in the theater and musical artists are among the most complete and very often underestimated artists.

Perfect third place but if Spain had reached second or first place I would not have complained.

She needs to go to the studio and record that #1 debut album already. I'm definitely going to follow her career. She (and Sam) to me is the highlight of Eurovision 22. Her whole journey from the NF to the GF was amazing. I need more music from her!
