Llegó la mami
La reina, la dura, una Bugatti
El mundo está loco con este party
Si tengo un problema, no es monetary
Yo vuelvo loquito’ a todos los daddies
Yo siempre primera, nunca secondary
Apenas hago doom, doom
Con mi boom, boom
Y le tengo dando zoom, zoom
Por Miami

Y no se confundan
Señora’ y señore’
Yo siempre ‘toy ready
Pa’ romper cadera’, romper corazones
Solo existe una
No hay imitaciones (Na, na)
Y si aún no me crees, pues me toca mostrárselo

Take a video
Watch it slo mo, mo, mo, mo, mo
Booty hypnotic
Make you want more, more, morе, more, more
Voy a bajarlo hasta el suеlo, lo, lo, lo, lo (Yeah)
If you wish, you could do this dembow (Do this dembow)
Drives you loco (Yeah)
Take a video, watch it slo mo

Te gusta todo lo que tengo
Te endulzo la cara en jugo de mango
Se te dispara cuando la prendo
Hasta el final, yo no me detengo
Take a sip of my cola-la
Un poco salvaje na-na-na
Make it go like pa-pa-pa-pa
Like pa-pa-pa-pa-pa

Y no se confundan (Y no se confundan)
Señora’ y señore’
Yo siempre ‘toy ready (Yo siempre estoy ready)
Pa’ romper cadera’, romper corazone’
Solo existe una (Solo existe una)
No hay imitaciones (Na, na, na)
Y si aún no me crees, pues me toca mostrárselo (Oye)

Take a video
Watch it slo mo, mo, mo, mo, mo
Booty hypnotic
Make you want more, more, more, more, more
Voy a bajarlo hasta el suelo, lo, lo, lo, lo
If you wish, you could do this dembow (Do this dembow)
Drives you loco (Yeah)
Take a video
Watch it slo mo, mo, mo, mo, mo
Booty hypnotic
Make you want more, more, more, more, more
Voy a bajarlo hasta el suelo, lo, lo, lo, lo
If you wish, you could do this dembow (Do this dembow)

Despacito lyrics: "quiero ver cuánto amor a ti te cabe" (I want to see how much love fits in you --- fit where????? what has to be inside???) "empezamos lento, después salvaje" // we start slowly, then wildly --- they mean dancing?? or.... another activity?). Music video full of people in sexy outfits dancing in a very sensual way.

Mayores lyrics: "a mí me gustan más grandes, que no me quepan en la boca" (I like them bigger, the ones that can't fit in my mouth --- Becky G, it's too much! Oh well, let's pretend we mean kisses in the next sentence ;) // yo duro en la cama lo que él no dura --- in the bed I last longer than him). Music video with Becky G looking sexy, seducing a man only to steal him...

These, especially Despacito, have been worldwide hits. 'Slutty' Slomo is no more slutty than those hits. Have you been in caves all this time? This is very common in the music scene nowadays.
Aren't these two from 2017? How come it's NOWADAYS?

A podcaster I like (singing coach) reviewed some of the finale songs, trashed almost all of them, calling her 'great dancer, better actor than singer though'.
I disagree with the singing coach. Each song has a different vocal approach and in this case it was perfect. Did we want to hear Chanel sing like Il Volo while she danced? 🤣 From what you say, we could say that Jennifer Lopez can't sing too.

Chanel sang, danced following a complex choreography, acted and seduced the public. Other singers would not have succeeded or would have spat a lung on the ground after the performance.

What infuriates many is to see Spain become competitive again and the fact that when it comes to this kind of dance and song they are the best. Chanel made Eurodives Eleni Foureira and Elena Tsagkrinou look like amateurs who played Spanish-flavored music.

Personally, I have always remained sincere in my tastes I have never felt a super connection with "SloMo". As an Italian and a purist of the beautiful voice, I preferred Sam Ryder. However, I have never considered the Spanish entry poor and vulgar. In fact, even though I saw victory difficult from the start, I always thought that Chanel and "SloMo" had "winning vibes" (vibes you hear in quality songs).

Speaking of Malgioglio, he is an extravagant type and has always been musically in love with JLo. When he saw Chanel he was struck by the fact that the Cuban singer had outclassed her myth and made a caustic comment (like many that are also read here in the forum). However, he apologized to the Spanish fans for his comment. The Italians did not let themselves be influenced by him as has been said. The Italians love Malgioglio but react to his words by joking about it. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, Spain was twelfth in our televoting. Why didn't Spain conquer the public and the Italian jury? The reason is not personal. For us this kind of songs are seen as "summer hits" (fast food music, so to speak) and we usually love beautiful voices and sincere emotions more than a staging full of fireworks that distracts attention from the lyrics, music and voice.

Whoever wrote that Chanel was vulgar I say he is wrong. To me she was as seductive as a panther. It was easy to fall into vulgarity but she and the dancers were able to calibrate the performance and permeate everything with a Spanish "caliente" taste. Personally, during the main event, I was impressed by the Spanish performance and I knew it would get acclaim and I add that, always during the performance, in my mind I got engaged 5 times with Chanel, 3 times with the right girl dancer and 3 times with the left girl dancer! xheatxrofl

Mmm...might be because I'm historian, but to me 5 years is like yesterday  anyway in 2022 there are still many songs about sensuality and sex, I thought people had already got used to it xthink

They are used to it only if Albania sings them. They are the same ones that the Italian LRDL would have wanted at the ESC and then they would have complained that the lyrics said to dance with your ass. Brisk bigotry.

Get used to it. If Spain, I hope so for you Spanish fans, will become competitive every year they will start hitting all your entries considering you "overrated" and your songs will be labeled "not my cup of tea", "the typical Spanish entry" or they will say "why don't they sing in English?" or "My eighteen-year-old niece was put on the wrong track by Spain!" xrofl

They just can't hide the fact that they live the ESC with an extraordinary competitive spirit. Yes, yes, we are all friends. At least until the main event arrives xshrug:lol:

Nobody is taking from you the right to express your opinion, you are now victimising yourself for no reason. Each individual can draw the line of what is morally accepted or let’s call it tasteful on a stage like Eurovision, if showing body parts and having sexy lyrics are uncomfortable for you, I’m not here to judge you for that, but there is where morality comes to the table, whether you admit it or not. Ironically you label other people like narrowminded.

It’s pretty clear your issues are towards this particular entry and not Spain or other Spanish entries, good to know some of your favs though.
Can you just stop with this bullshit now?

It's not uncomfortable for me. You're just making that up because you refuse to read what I write. I don't like the act because it's slutty. I have no problem with sluts, I am not a prude, I am fine with all kinds of sex and porn and whatever. I just don't think this particular slutty act had anything to offer at all. It was just a cheap, unimaginative, cringy show that accompanied a mediocre song sung by a decent singer that, coming in at 3rd place, was my biggest surprise of this ESC. It has nothing to do with moral bullshit, feeling uncomfortable, lack of respect or any other of the arguments you're making up out of thin air. It was just a bad act. No more no less.

Oh damn, Eurovision is over, we've got a more than respectable 3rd position and there's still controversy? Chanel and her team are more than happy, most of us Spaniards are too, let the EBU do their business and that's all.

Was Ukraine a winner for me? No, but c'est la vie, things happen when they come and I'm proud to see both us and the UK (who personally was my winner after the show together with Chanel) escaping from bottom 5 to reach the podium. We don't care at all who is 2nd or 3rd, what matters is that our broadcaster is encouraged to work hard every year to finally bring home the victory.

Sexism? I just see a girl doing, singing, dancing and dressing what she wants and that's the message we should retain. I've read comments in Twitter saying girls will start dreaming with becoming "slutty" Chanel instead of scientists. That is actually sexist, disrespectful and a joke to every women in the world. F*** the haters, hands down for our queen Chanel xcheer

I agree.

The lyrics aren't sexy or suggestive though, they're porn. Also very cheap, awkward and childish.
Well you're entitled to your opinion but the jury and the televoters disagree with you

I've seen some people here in Brazil commenting about her performance xcheer given that we pretty much don't care about ESC, this might be a sign she is gonna have some recognition outside the bubble

I don't think she is either slutty or vulgar. The vocabulary in the lyrics are just straight up children diary along with sexy dance, the overall performance feel like primary school student trying to be sexy, very cringe.

Guys, honestly, get over it. You are always the same people on this forum repeating the same thing all over again. We all know you haven't liked anyting about SloMo since the beginning. It is not necessary to intervene to despise all about the Spanish entry a thousand times.

Well, I don't really like the suggestive lyrics and the emphasis on sexy but even if I wasn't a fan, the performance was great and I understand why people liked it. I don't understand how she got so much juriy votes, imo it would be more like a 10th place, because I thought that juries have also to take into account lyrics and the song (which, in my opinion, are the weakest points) while watchers just vote for a performance wow factor (which is the strongest part).

As I said before, and as Chanel stated herself, they represent a kind of artist that usually remains in the shadows: the artist from musicals, who is singer but also a dancer and an actor or actress. Everybody knows very famous musicals, but do you know the artists who make them possible? Musical artists are to the music scene the same that theatre actors are to the acting profession. They don't get recognized the same way as the bands and solo artists, but they work the same or even harder. Look at Chanel's perfomance: they are out of breath, but they are still controlling their face expressions, they are playing a role. Perhaps people in the juries know this world much better than we do and they appreciate the performance as a whole: a song, but also a dance and an acting.

Perfect summary.

3rd place is an awesome result for Spain and they can be proud. I‘ve never been a fan of the song (and I am still not the biggest) but her performance in the GF was great and I would rank SloMo now higher than I did before the GF. She left an impact that night and if any country deserves it, it’s Spain, maybe even more than UK (who really deserved their place and I‘m happy for them!) because Spain tried a lot of different things the past years and none of them seemed to work although many of the songs were always fan favourites (not only Spanish fans).

I didn't repeat the same stuff over an over again. She can dance but that's about it. In the beginning I find the performance boring and tacky. After I know the lyrics I find the performance boring and cringe. The only reason it stands out in this year is because this year's entries are significantly worse than last year's. The year's entries show the characteristic a friend of mine mocking about Eurovision: the songs sound (10 years) more dated than mainstream music.
