Chanel really killed it.... The performance is interesting and keeps the attention, to see what happens next... Song is also radio/club friendly, has ear-worm quality and feels quite unique, I think the crowd would go wild when this comes on... I think this definitely wouldn't finish in let's say bottom 3-5, and that is already an advancement considering Spain. Of course it also depends on the running order, how many other songs are from this genre etc, but I'd say it would be a standout and would have enough fans across Europe... I hope they select Chanel, no other song in this selection has more punch I think

Gave another rewatch to Chanel.
1. She does sing live - probably the easiest point to hear that is at 1:27-1:29 in the video (link), what happens with her voice there is not something you'd go for when using playback (also it's not the only point where that happens). The singing's by no means clean, but I'd say for this kind of performance it's passable, better than for example Tanxugueiras'.
2. Kinda wondering to which extent the performance feels so strong because I had exactly 0 expectations coming in, but having slept on it, I too now believe she outfoureirad Foureira. However, Eleni had a stronger song to work with, Chanel's never coming close to Fuego's success with SloMo.
3. Rayden please save us now!

I am still on the Tanxugueiras wagon, of course now we need to add Chanel. But if the three girls fix their chaotic staging they could catch up. I think that the dancers are a hardly confusion (or frame the dancers or frame the girls) also because the girls divide and join all the time and it's not good. They could spend more time on the mountain and go down in the middle of the song, otherwise they could start already from the stage with the microphone stand and then free themselves in the center of the stage.

Coming into the live show tonight I was not a Terra fan, but dang I liked them live much better than in a studio version. The performance is messy tho and they need to change it.

Chanel really had a great performance last night, but the song is still trash. People seem to forget, this is Spain and this is a million times seen before pop song, will people vote for it (especially if there will be better songs) ? No, people won't vote.

Blanca Paloma was the best for me last night, so magical, less is more.

HOPING that Rayden is saying us tonight.

Quite obvious Blanca Paloma and Chanel both qualified, these were the two acts close to ESC-ready, with advantage to Blanca for me : this felt just too damn beautiful, some visuals were quite eye-catching. And for Chanel, whose i find the song quite forgettable, she nailed it with top-notch choreo and some really cool light effects, vocals were not that on point tho. So, congrats !
Tanxugueiras were perfect vocally, but the staging was quite weird, sometimes they were more looking like backing vocalists. Not sure about the dancers and the instrumentalist, they've enough strength to own the stage by themselves.
I wouldn't have bet on Varry Brava qualifying, i love this song but the staging was quite a let down, the stage felt a bit empty. Azucar Moreno was good, decent, but nothing more. And Unique... well, yeah. Random song, random staging, random kiss, meh.

Good beginning of this Benidorm Fest, which showcases that not everything is written, so... i have HIGH hopes for Rayden tonight.

The "they were kinda meh but they can improve for the ESC" is a big NO. All participants had yesterday the chance to present their show, if they failed to deliver "goodbye and see you next year". I dont see the point in doing a selection show if the people are going to ignore the performances, just root for the songs they like from the beginning and hope they deliver better at ESC

Rating wise it has been OK, they mentioned it has surpassed the election of Miki in 2019 and Blas Canto's song last year. It's only below Amaia and Alfred in 2018... and it's only a semifinal, the expectations for the Final are higher.

However, the televoting has not appealed the majority of viewers.

Am sooo happy that Blanca made it to the final, her performance was clearly the best xheart

Tonight am really hoping that Gonzalo can make it to the final xheart

That's the main issue, Fuego was a bop. If they revamp it, their chances to do good increase by a lot. But I still believe that even in the current state Top 10-15 isn't impossible. Sex sells and the dancing will be the best of the night. Tamta reached place 14 even though "Replay" was a weaker version of Fuego with a stiff performance just one year after Eleni. Still did decently well, could've flopped way harder.
