Re: SPAIN 2014

Pablo Alborán! xlove Please please please! I listened to his debut album for the first time in December and I haven't moved on to his second album because I'm not tired of it yet! And believe me, I listen to it every day! I really do. I just had a two-weeks break due to Eurovision. Now I'm back to it!

He's really successful here so I think he wouldn't do it in a million years. And I'm sure we wouldn't get a very good place either (it may be the same effect as this year with Marco, only Southern countries would vote for him, and we don't sing in Italian, so that's less points for us unfortunately) People would get really mad if he didn't make at least top 5.

I would, for sure!

I know he's very successful. I saw his selling numbers and I was shocked. Mostly because he did them in a year that you were (and still are :() in crisis. Like us.

But the thing is that I loved him before I see any numbers! Selling numbers or views on youtube! I loved his voice and music! So no one can "blame" me for "following the stream". ;) So I think he'd be a great choice. But then again, if we take a look at Pastora's result in the televoting I think you're right. :(

Maybe I think he'll do great because I love anything spanish? xcrazy

 well, I think it's good taste when it comes to Pablo :D I'm not a big fan of the kind of music he does but he's got amazing songs xheart

Just in case someone is curious :p

Re: SPAIN 2014

We haven't heard of her in a while xthink not sure that's a good idea.
I found this fan video with candidates  I don't like any of them (well, Roko I do, and maybe Paula Rojo but I don't know really...)

01- NATALIA
I kinda like her, but her songs are a bit cheap (trying to imitate Britney's sort of cheapness) and I'm not sure if she's good live. Of course, not for a ballad like the second song shown on the video.

02- PAULA ROJO
As I said before, she's young, fresh and one of the new hits in the Spanish scene. Her songs are quality and so cheerful. Interesting soft pop with country-celt elements.

03- PABLO ALBORÁN
I don't like him. I think he's so overrated, but I reckon something like him would be good for Eurovision. The problem is that we would get zero after zero from every country above of the Alps. If he went, I'd tell him not to try to turn everything he's singing into flamenco, it's quite annoying. And BTW I don't think we would reject ESC, we shall see.

04- MELENDI
I like him, especially now that he's more rocky, but he's not suitable at all for ESC. His best things are the lyrics (nobody will understand them) and his voice is quite weak.

05- ROKO
She would be perfect. Young, fresh, modern,.... And this would help her to get a career (I can't understand why this girl doesn't have it yet). She's so professional and hard-worker, also so versatile, she could sing almost every style.

06- AURYN
I said previously they would be a good choice, despite I'm not really into boy-bands. Their last songs are amazing, a wonderful production and although 99% of their fans are teenagers, they are more in the group of The Wanted, rather than disgusting One Direction. I think you got it, right? ;) I'm not sure about how they would sound live.... They didn't sound very good in our NF 2011 and it seems it's kinda one real singer and four backing vocalists...

07- ABRAHAM MATEO
hahaha really??? I reckon that Sexy señorita song is extremely catchy and toxic, but for ESC???? well, maybe something like that would do quite well with the televoting.... not my choice though.

08- ANDY & LUCAS
Seriously??? xshock Andy & Lucas make music for suburbial teenagers (as I was with 16 years old). ESC is not suburbial nor for teenagers. Nothing more to add.

09- EFECTO PASILLO
Not my cup of tea. Their songs are quite happy and cheerful, but maybe a bit bland?

10- SORAYA ARNELAS
She deserves another chance in the ESC after being robbed in 2009. Now with some dance song in her style. However, she does too electronic stuff right now. She has an amazing voice and would do well with some commercial dance song, not with the electro-weird stuff she's doing at the moment.

11- MALÚ
She would be amazing. Strong voice and almost all of her songs are so touching and amazing. IMO she would be much better choice than Pablo Alborán. But again, northern countries ignore EVERYTHING that sounds a bit mediterranean...

12- BEATRIZ LUENGO
I'm pretty indifferent to her. Dont you find her a bit boring?

Malú could be nice, I agree, but I just don't see the song she could sing to impress Europe xthink

I could've done it much better. I even know how to give points in Swedish!!!! I should apply for being the spokeperson in MF (if they choose us again as international jury) and ESC.

I'm here, Mister Llano! xyaay
And I promise I won't say ESPAIN ;)

He's our Head of Delegation. I think this will answer your question.

I see... I didn't know he was the Head of Delegation, I have nothing to add. How on earth he got the job? xgaah

If :pt: participates and if :es: chose Pablo Alborán, he would definetely get our 12 points. He is very popular here. I'm tired of his songs though, don't really like him.

Re: SPAIN 2014

I feel like when Spain sent latin style music through they did well. Take 2009 for example 'Amante de la luna' would have done much better than the travesty that was Soraya! I for one would LOVE to see someone like Chenoa or another latin artist. I also think that maybe looking into an artist from latin america might do well. But making sure that they are known in Spain obviously!
Also keep it in Spanish as it a beautiful language and my second language so I have a bias to the Spanish songs
