I was sleeping on this song before it was selected but I’m so glad that it was. There’s such a beautiful, introspective and fragile quality to this song that is too good to be overlooked. I can see it qualifying relatively comfortably despite it being one of the quieter songs and from a non-televote friendly country like Slovenia. The slightly awkward fixed gaze they share on stage is so attention-grabbing and only makes it more appealing. That said, any endeavour from Zala to engage with the camera more so as not to exclude the audience would probably benefit them.

This is the sort of sincere, atypical Eurovision song that juries ought to reward for it’s originality and understated, tasteful performance.

What a boring snoozefest. Hopefully it stays in the semi-finals, otherwise I'll use this as my toilet break or to grab some snacks.

Are Slovenians going to flop again or not? Is our song a fanwank or not? Well, I think we shall see. In the end, if Portugal managed to win, then there is hope even for us. Is this going to happen this year, next year, in 20 years or 100? Who knows, and it doesn't matter in my opinion.

However, while you guys argue about things we cannot know yet, I'd like to ask you one question that bugs me now for days. Ever since the studio version was published, it is clear that ESC version is 20 secs shorter than the studio version. The difference between the two versions is by the end of the song. What interests me is to hear your opinion if Gašper and Zala cut out the right part of the song? Namely, the part that is missing from the original is actually very dramatic (that's the part where Gašper frantically throws that plane) and uplifts the song's monotonous tune by the end. Now they kept the so-called "chorus" which occupies now almost the whole last minute of the song completely, making it sound indeed as lacking something special in the end. What do you think? Should have they kept that missing part from the original version or did they decide correctly by repeating 5 times their chorus? I honestly think they made wrong decision.

This sure seems like a fanwank. It seems like people like it solely because it's in a foreign language. Or maybe they really like very slow, boring songs that make you fall asleep.

Can't wait to see it flop in the semi-finals and not qualify.

It says Slovenians constitute the biggest amount of voters per country.

True, but Slovenia was faved 102 times, while only 67 Slovenians voted. So, even if we dismiss 67 of 102 top scores as all coming from Slovenian voters, it still means that Slovenia is in the second place with 35 top scores, as the third placed got only 26 times top score (and there were 35 voters from Spain...). So, I think that the chart perhaps does reflect the actual sentiment of general population at the time being.

Oh, are you saying that Slovenia 2019 gives you the same vibes as Belgium 2018 who was in top 10 in almost all Youtube ESC Tops last year, but in the end it didn't survive semifinals?

Anyways, don't take it personally, but guys, you don't have to be offensive to other people who like our song - calling it "fanwank" is highly offensive and rude not only towards the song itself, but you are actually ridiculing the taste of other people. You don't like it? Fine, but try to pack your dislike in nicer words. Thanx

I was replying to the person above. And I promise I will not post another critical comment of Slovenia in this thread for a week or so.

I could balance it out by saying I DID like last year's entry by Belgium. Not live, but the studio version.

I loved it too, it's pretty sad that it didn't work well on stage. Slovenia won't struggle to qualify this year.. we know what they can do on stage, and that they can deliver a magical performance. Honestly I don't see how this could stay in the semis.

I know current betting odds don't mean much, but I've followed Slovenia's journey since January and the turn of events is quite encouraging:

-Slovenia was ranked 36th (out of 42) to win earlier this year and until EMA 2019 was held, which means snippets didn't create any hype as far as gamblers are concerned.
-After "Sebi" won the NF, Slovenia went from 36th to 26th in a few days.
-As of now, they are 19th (out of 41) and their odds remain blue (meaning they're shortening).

I post this here so that we can compare their placing once all the entries are out. :)

Well, let's be honest, betting odds are not the most reliable indicator how one song will do, just like all sorts of tops and charts and I don't know what. Regarding betting odds, we all know that everyone who bets his/her money on a song he does it by considering previous successes/fails of a country. So, since Slovenia was in top10 the last time 18 years ago, would you bet your money on us this year? Nah, so, the mere fact that we are actually in 19th spot despite devastating statistics that go against us I think this is actually very good and promising.

All in all, from the current offer we have in this year's edition of ESC, Slovenia actually looks better and better with each and every new entry. I honestly started to believe that we should qualify quite easily. As for the finals and final result, well, I will be able to predict Zala's and Gašper's placement only once I see their staging in Tel Aviv. If they nail it, this could go top10.

However, has anyone else but me noticed that there is still no official clip and version of our song in the official ESC YT chanel? Does this mean that the song is undergoing some final changes/improvements before submitting it? What do you think guys?
