I want Alenka Gotar smiling at her led hand in the dark !!!!!!!
I want Tinkara, Maraaya, Maja cos they slayed.
I want Eva Boto when I am sad.
I don't want Manuella and her very awkward dress change + that little pocket hair dryer blowing her hair during the not so dramatic key change.

Studio version of Regina's song xyaay

For the 2nd year in a row, my favourite song in EMA has the word "Alive" in its title (last year it was "Alive" by Martina Majerle) :D

And this is the studio version of "Tip top"

I can't decide on which of the 2 songs is more epic xheat

speaking of studio versions

This song has beautiful lyrics....it's about reminiscing good old days when they were kids/teens xmusic
ofc it would flop at eurovision, but so will Manuella, therefore i'd rather see us sending this

I don't want to open recent wounds, but I accidentally re-watched Raiven's performance, and all I can say is: xcry1

Edit: And forget about what I said previously on the song, it was perfect as it was.

Alenka Gotar was the bomb! Slovenia's best x12s

This is probably the only Slovenian song that I have hard time understanding lyrics :) The song was okey, and I was so proud of her, but afterward, she = Alenka turned out to be a bit .... How to put it? Annoying.

Oh, and some gossips: she married 21-years-old BOY last year, after a very turbulent and public relationship with him hahaha :) Nobody cares about Alenka any longer here in Slovenia...

After heiling a bit my wounds because of the fiasco that EMA 2016 was this year, you reminded me now of what we missed out... Raiven would have been soooooo much better choice.

I also liked this song - a lot. But the camera work was simply horrible... I think that RTV SLO ruined their career :)

She might not be interesting to follow as a mediatised personality, but the song though xheat it does not get old to my ears! That was a very bold choice to send Popera, and even more so during the televoting era.

I preferred La Voix from Sweden. That singer is actually a good opera singer. I can't remember her name, but I still do remember her performance. I never understood what went wrong with that song. I was really expecting it to score better.

Well, on the other hand, Slovenia, Slovenia... This is another story. Btw, to reply to you also from other line concerning Amandine, well, also SLovenia got acquainted with all of the "advantages" of being the opening act of the night :) I still like her diabolic song. She was/is great.

La Voix was sung by Malena Ernman (the woman on my avatar picture ), thanks to her I got into Eurovision. She's an awesome opera singer, I've got all her albums. But while La Voix was strictly was mix between opera and pop, Czet z Juga had a more authentic/ethnic/mystical feeling imo. I love both songs anyway

I wonder who'll have the "honour" to open the final this year

During the week when several countries, including Slovenia, chose their winner, I was outside my town and couldn´t follow the stream and results.

I´m glad I didn´t though, cause I would be banging my head against the wall.
The fact that my favorite almost won the selection, yet I previously doubted that the song would even reach the superfinal. And then gets eliminated in superfinal by just 100 votes difference.....

The winner is a pleasant song. Nothing more to say about it, however.

At this point, I am slowly starting to make up my mind about my top 3 and bottom 3. So, in no particular order, my top 3 are: France, Italy, Russia. Very close behind: Spain. And my bottom three are: Austria, Iceland, and Norway. Probably the most underrated songs by ESC fans this year are: Georgia and Armenia. Definitively overrated: Ukraine and Germany. These last two will get company, as soon as Sweden select their entry :)

So, one question for you, if you are an opera connoisseur :)

What do you think of Sumi Jo, the opera singer?

So, one question for you, if you are an opera connoisseur :)

What do you think of Sumi Jo, the opera singer?

I'm not really a connoisseur, but my father is, and I had the opportunity to go to the opera several times. Therefore, I don't know all the "beauty standards" of this genre, so I wouldn't criticize opera singers while pretending I'm an expert. :) Regarding my personal preferences though, I like opera singers who are very nimble with their own voice and at ease with the music they sing, and know how to beautifully hold both powerful and very soft notes. In other words, I admire people who make opera singing look easy (like Malena Ernman, or Nathalie Dessay for instance) but they are only few to be really amazing at coloratura (what I like the most), while people who sound like they're almost going to die after each note irritate me  (I won't reveal any name!)

Well, even though I don't know her work very well, with all due respect to her, she hasn't the kind of voice and vocal training I enjoy from the performances I've seen from her. She vocally lacks depth and agility to me, but again I'm sure she's very good at what she does within her vocal range. ;)
