Live this looks better than in the studio. Still, my favourite was "A si sanjal me". It's a good ballad, kinda flat. The intro is pretty good. Overall, it is nice and I kinda like it. For me better than last year. She is obviously nowhere near Maja, vocally.

That is my thought exactly. I am not jumping all over the place for the song. And I think she kinda makes it flatter and rather ok. Plus, she is 16, and an idol-type, which means she was criticized and praised for her performances on EMA.

For the simple fact that it will be different than the songs from the other ex-Yugo countries, that will most likely be in their original languages, and all ballads. It will be a lot of the same.

But again: don't get me wrong, I would prefer Slovenian as well.

I can tell you why we decide to perform the songs we choose in English We tried in Slovene several years (02, 05, 07, 08...) but as you can see, there was no outstanding result, but since we succeeded last year with Maja performing her song in English we became even more eager not to try in Slovene anymore ... I think it is generally believed in Slovenia that our language does not sound as nice as English, especially for all the people coming from Western or Northern Europe who do not understand a word at all...

On one hand I hope they will decide Eva to perform her song in Slovene, but on the other hand I believe she's more likely to reach the finals with English lyrics ... that way everyone will understand her, which usually seem far more important than how the lyrics and the melody together form the whole concept ...

I got your point, however we have yet to hear the Bosnian, Serbian and Macedonian entries. Also Croatia is considering English (hope they won't) and the rest will be more or less only English.

And also, considering the "strong block semi", it'll probably qualify anyhow, and to be honest I think it will attract more voters from that block if performed in Slovene rather than English.

So I don't think English will work in this entry's favor actually.

What everyone? You know that English is not even second or third language in some European countries? Slovenia enters a semi with almost all ex-Yugo countries which for sure understand more Slovene than English.

Also this entry is not like past year, this has a more local touch, and English would take away some of that atmosphere.

Also, changing the language is not just "changing the language", it'll change the whole song because different languages add different dimensions to music. I think English is just a sell-out, it's not fair to the ones who voted for and supported for this entry to win, and it's just hypothetical if it'll actually help the song or not.

This song is not for a 16 year old girl.And also her voice can not be over the song,more than it,but makes it ok.

And I would very much like to hear a proper English version as well (proper= decent lyrics, 'vowally' fitting the song throughout) before deciding about which language "it should be" (=alway means "I prefer it to be") sung in.
For me, it's always about the more convincing 'package'; of course always a thin line between "objectivity" and "subjectivity" - but sometimes a song has far mor appeal, if kept in native language , but sometimes a song is not destroyed at all by translation, 'glowing' even more, if sung in the lingua franca of ESC. English.

I do understand some of the criticism about so-called 'Anglovision', of course, but tbh - I would dislike ANY kind of 'Dogma-Vision' in this contest even more!! :twisted:

Don't know about others, but I understand more English than Slovene

About the song. It's in the middle for me. If you compare it to Molitva, not even close as good as Molitva. Eva has no charisma and is not such good singer as Maja last year. Don't know, I'll probably give it 7 points.
PS I'm sorry for the twins. Poor girls didn't have good songs

Weird thing about this song...I really liked it live, well at least from the two final songs.
But now (i have the list of chosen ESC 2012 songs in a separate folder on my pc and have it loaded in Winamp) i just cannot memorize it!
The player randomly plays the songs, for now i remember each one of them, even "I'm a Joker", except this one! I even don't hear it when it's playing, it doesn't catch my attention, i have to rewind to it and listen over and over but i don't remember a single note
Even the finnish song is in my head now, but not this one(

Exactly! People are too fixed on the results, and this is just speculating anyways. Nothing says a song will flop just because it's not in English, English is overrated in this.

Just hold your head up high and believe in yourself, your country and your language.

Atleast if you have an entry like this that already have local touches, then English is not gonna help it imo.

well, Croatia, Serbia, BiH, Montenegro have very similar languages, we understand each other completely (most of the time ).
Slovenia and Macedonia are quite different. personally, I understand their languages like I understand any other slavic language - some words or sentences here and there
