Moments ago, the Slovak public broadcaster RTVS released an official communiqué stating that their participation in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest is yet to be decided.

The management of RTVS goes on saying that they are "interested in being present at major international competitions", an aim for which the Slovak broadcaster "must be prepared so that the financial resources bring the desired effect".

The Slovak public broadcaster also states that the final decision will be announced in due course.

This statement comes two days after the head of programmes at RTVS, Andrej Miklánek, suggested that Slovakia would miss the next edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. According to him, RTVS would be focusing on producing another type of entertainment shows.

How can a country be a "drama queen" for not having decided yet when the deadline is not there yet? It's not as if they change their mind after the deadline date.

Oh I remember this aswell, the other girl had an ok song, better than what they send atleast. Maybe she could try?

But I know there are better options in Slovakia though.

@A-lister - totally agree. Another one participated in Idol show but he was quite pale.
I think about one person who was eager to represent Slovakia but he wasn't interested in 2011, or TWIINS paid more.

After some confusion with regards to the participacion or withdrawal from Slovakia in the coming 2012 edition of the Eurovision song contest, it looks like now , the national broadcaster STV is doing its duty and it has yet released the names and artists that will be in the final show to select the Slovakian song for Baku. These are the qualified songs and artists:
Vierka Ayisi – Si Moje Druhe Ja.
Robo Opatovsky ft El Nino – Piatok.
Patricia Vittek – Nikdy neprestavaj .
Dreamtuch – Je to ok.Tak sa mi páči.
Given that STV has moved for an on-line selection, the decision will be in the hands of the Slovak audience.

Eurocontest.cz reports that Radio and Television Slovakia (RTVS) are still deciding on whether or not they’ll participate at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. The final decision is expected to be made at the end of this month, Eurocontest.cz was informed by Lubos Machaj.

As the situation surrounding the Slovak participation is becoming very confusing like last year, Eurocontest.cz wanted to get an official statement directly from RTVS. The clarification was made today of the situation, as RTVS program director Lubos Machaj stated: “The national rounds will not take place. About our participation, we will be deciding finally before the end of the month.”

The response from RTVS means they are ‘still alive’ and participation on behalf of Slovakia is still possible. It seems though if they do remain, the Slovakian representative will be chosen internally.
